SUZUKI

ACROSS: THE TOYOTA HYBRID PLUG-IN

The agreement between Toyota and Suzuki already has its first fruit in the form of a product and is called Suzuki Across. In fact, it is the Toyota RAV4 with Suzuki emblems and minor modifications. But it is not the hybrid that Toyota already has in its catalog, but the plug-in hybrid option that will be available very soon.
Aesthetically, the new Suzuki Across is almost the same as the Toyota RAV4. It differs mainly from the front, with thinner headlights and a retouched front bumper, in addition to a large grille as the protagonist. Also the false side air intake inlets, where the anti-fog headlights are located, are different from the Toyota model. At the rear, however, it appears that the changes are reduced solely to the brand's emblem.

Under the hood of the Suzuki Across is a 2.5 Plug-in Hybrid E-Four engine, with the 185 hp gasoline block of Toyota origin as the base, accompanied by two electric engines: a front of 182 hp and the rear with 54 hp. They are independent and powered by an 18.1 kWh lithium ion battery, located under the trunk floor and offering 75 km of autonomy in 100% electric mode.

The transmission is Toyota's well-known e-CVT, and can run in electric mode up to 135 km / h. The capacity of the trunk is 490 liters. This whole system can be operated in automatic mode, in pure electric mode and forcing the charge of the electric battery.
This plug-in hybrid system allows you to deliver 306 hp of maximum power together and with 4x4 traction. An intelligent four-wheel drive system in which the front-wheel drive works as normal, but reaching a maximum 20/80 distribution in situations where it is required.

Inherited from the Toyota RAV4, the Suzuki Across has a multimedia system with a 9.0 inch screen, with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The interior also has few differences in relation to the model from which it derives, offering identical habitability - except for the difference in the trunk - but undoubtedly one of the key points is that it maintains the pre-collision system and adaptive cruise control, for example.

This new Suzuki Across also features an active lane maintenance system, blind spot detector, rear cross-traffic warning and e-Call, as well as traffic sign recognition. It is expected to arrive at dealers coinciding with the launch of the plug-in hybrid version of the Toyota RAV4.
Power management modes allow you to operate automatically by combining the thermal and electric motors, using the thermal motor to preserve the battery, operating in pure electric mode or using the thermal motor to charge the battery while we are driving.
