450 Rally Replica 2021: the closest you can buy to a Dakar motorcycle
The KTM 450 Rally Replica 2021 is a highly coveted offroad bike, manufactured in a limited edition of only 85 units worldwide.
In recent years, this limited production model has earned a well-deserved recognition thanks to its innovative components and high performance, a direct result of the orders of Toby Price, Matthias Walkner and Sam Sunderland, all of them Red Bull KTM Factory Racing drivers in the Dakar rally.
Made to not make ugly in long distance rallies, the Rally Réplica is also available for teams and private drivers and has a fixed price of 25,900 euros.
The 450cc SOHC engine with electronic fuel injection is inserted in a bike with racing motorcycle characteristics. These specifications include a sophisticated WP XACT PRO front suspension, with sophisticated tapered valve technology, aerodynamics and ergonomics designed to perform best in a wide variety of terrains.
In this 2021 edition, KTM perfected the engine assembly with a new gearbox and a revised shift mechanism. PANKL Racing Systems' collaboration with the KTM racing department has enabled technicians to further enhance the bike's already excellent reliability, but also benefit riders with a longer internal gear ratio.
The five-speed gearbox has been adjusted to suit the average riding habits of Dakar legends Toby Price, Matthias Walker and Sam Sunderland; therefore, although not specifically stated, this bike can reach 180 km, the maximum speeds that factory racing bikes do on rough terrain.
The structure is a chromium-molybdenum steel truss, light and optimized for rigidity and stability; the self-supporting fuel tank acts as a rear chassis and holds 16 liters and the swing arm is a thin and light aluminum part, with flexible behavior adjusted to match the WP EACT PRO racing shock. The total weight is only 139 kg.
The KTM 450 Rally Réplica will be available from September 2020, but hurry up, only 85 units will be built around the world and which according to the international press, despite the price will quickly sell out.
