ELECTRIFIED RENEGADE COMES TO THE MARKET
Jeep debuts its electrified line with the 4xe models, and reveals both the Compass and the Jeep Renegade 4xe. The compact all-terrain vehicle keeps its capabilities intact. It is difficult to differentiate it from conventional combustion versions because its image is practically identical, except for the blue touches of the Jeep, Renegade and 4xe emblems.
Its propulsion system combines a 1.3 turbo 4-cylinder engine, available in versions of 130 or 180 hp and 270 Nm of torque, with a small electric block that can act as a generator and a second electric motor coupled to the rear axle that develops 60 hp and 250 Nm of torque. In this way, the access version delivers 190 hp and the superior 240. The one in charge of supplying the energy is an 11.4 kWh battery.
Despite the addition of new electrical components, its layout means that the trunk does not see its capacity diminished, maintaining the same 330 liters of the conventional Renegade.
The propulsion system can work in three different modes:
Hybrid: uses the power of the entire system, so the performance is greater, and is automatically regulated when using the electrical part;
Electric: circulates in 100% electric mode, with a maximum range of 50 kilometers and reaching a maximum of 130 km / h;
E-Save: seeks to conserve battery power, but a secondary mode can also be used in which the combustion engine directly helps to regenerate up to 80% of its capacity.
The Jeep Renegade 4xe line is quite complete, with three levels of equipment (Limited, S and Trailhawk), as well as many customization options thanks to the 12 body colors available (Alpine White, Glacier, Granite Crystal, Jetset Blue, Blue Shade, Sting Gray, Colorado Red, Carbon Black, Solid Black, Bikini, Omaha Orange and Matt Green) and six different wheel designs.
