DONKERVOORT

D8 BARE NAKED CARBON EDITION

The new model of the brand D8 GTO-JD70 BNCE and has the peculiarity of having a body made entirely of exposed carbon fiber. A feature that allows you to lower your weight even more, which is now less than 700 kilos.
The Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 BNCE (acronym for 'Bare Naked Carbon Edition') is an authentic supercar, a car designed by and for enthusiasts of strong sensations behind the wheel. So much so that Donkervoort assures that it is the first series production car that is capable of surpassing the 2G of lateral acceleration in curve (2.05G, to be concrete). Being light and powered by an engine that delivers 420 hp it also allows you to overcome 1G when accelerating in a straight line.

The main difference between the Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 Bare Naked Carbon Edition and the D8 GTO-JD70 that was introduced last June appears on the body. It is made entirely of carbon fiber, as normal, the difference is that in this case it is also visible. You can choose between matte or glossy finishes and various colors, such as the green and red of the units that appear in the images.

Donkervoort guarantees that thanks to this, it has managed to reduce the total weight by “several kilos”, so that it is below 700 kg. Under its long hood is Audi's award winning 2.5 TFSI 5-cylinder inline engine, a mechanic that in this case develops the aforementioned 420 hp and 520 Nm of torque. It can only be coupled to a five-speed manual transmission, in keeping with the philosophy of the car, which transmits that force to the rear axle.

With these performance data and such a low weight, the D8 GTO-JD70 BNCE is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.7 seconds and from 0 to 200 km / h in 7.7 seconds. The maximum speed, in turn, is set at 280 km / h. Less relevant are the consumption and emissions data, with an approved average consumption of 13 km / l and 191 g / km of CO2 in the WLTP cycle.
For the time being the small Dutch manufacturer has not informed the price of the Donkervoort D8 GTO-JD70 BNCE, but it is assumed that it will be higher than the 198,000 euros that the conventional D8 GTO-JD70 costs.
