CITROEN

C4 AND ë-C4 ELECTRICAL WITH MORE DETAILS

A few days ago the French brand presented the first images of the new generation of the Citroën C4 and now this new delivery of the French compact is presented in detail. For the first time, the popular model will come with a purely electric version, which has been named Citroën ë-C4.
The French manufacturer has finally resumed its interest in the compact market, with this new model that will reach dealers over the next few months and which will have the dual purpose of replacing the C4 and C4 Cactus at the same time.
With this new generation of the C4, Citroën is betting on a bold new design, a car that will surely be able to capture the attention of customers, with a format that combines a crossover image with certain sporty features.

Externally, the new generation of the C4 stands out for its dynamically shaped body, which, thanks to a greater angle of inclination when falling from the roof and its thick rear pillar, offers a coupe-like appearance, which becomes one of its main features. news in terms of style.

However, from the French brand they point out that the design language of the new Citroën C4 will be extended to other future models of the line, since the compact will be the basis of a new design philosophy that will be adopted by the next releases.
With regard to the interior of the new Citroën C4 2021, a passenger compartment has received a complete update, featuring the latest technologies and which stands out for its minimalist design panel.

In the center of the panel is the floating touchscreen of the infotainment system, a 10-inch screen that is accompanied by a series of physical commands, to make its operation even simpler.
In addition, it has configurable digital instrumentation and a redesigned three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. The console in the transmission area also has a minimalist shape, with a clean design that is only interrupted by the electric handbrake, the driving modes sector and the energy recovery system.

The mechanical part, the new Citroën C4 will be offered with a series of diesel and gasoline alternatives, in addition to the aforementioned 100% electric version.
As for diesel mechanics, the offer will include the 1.6 BlueHDi in powers of 110 and 130 hp, in combination with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission, the latter only next to the more powerful engine.

In gasoline the line will be formed by 1.2 PureTech, which will be offered in versions of 100, 130 and 155 hp of power, which will be coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission or in the case of the two versions of greater power, also to an automatic transmission of 8 relations.
But the icing on the cake of this new generation of the French compact is the new 100% electric version, the Citroën ë-C4, which undoubtedly becomes the main attraction of this new generation.

The Citroën electric car is supported by the e-CMP platform of the Groupe PSA, a new architecture for electric vehicles that allowed the renewed compact to use the same technology present in other models of the French group, such as the electric versions of the Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa.

The new Citroën ë-C4 is equipped with a 100 kW electric motor, that is, with a power equivalent to 136 hp and a maximum torque of 260 Nm. It combines with a 50 kWh lithium-ion battery that is compatible with the fast charging system of up to 100 kW, which in 30 minutes allows 80% of the charging capacity to be recharged.According to the data provided by the manufacturer, the new Citroën ë-C4 offers a range of up to 350 kilometers according to the WLTP approval cycle. In addition, it is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 150 km / h. This new generation of the Citroën C4 will be produced at the Spanish factory in Villaverde, Madrid. Its arrival at the dealers is scheduled for the second half, but the French brand has not yet informed how the line will be formed, nor what will be the prices of the new Citroën ë-C4.
