AUDI

You will earn money by driving a brand electric car

Audi decided to create an additional incentive for electric car owners to switch to electric vehicles. That incentive must be the ability to sell the surplus electricity that will generate solar panels in the design of electric vehicles.

So far, Nissan has shown a clear interest in so-called bidirectional vehicle for home (V2H) or grid vehicle (V2G) charging systems for electric vehicles among the largest automakers. The V2H and V2G systems make it possible to connect the electrical network of an electric vehicle to electrical appliances at home or, in the second case, supply electricity to public energy networks. In fact, for sale to the government or other subscribers. Of course, this only makes sense when an electric car can generate electricity, for example, using solar panels installed on it.
To test these systems, Audi created experimental support, as stated in a new press release. The energy circuit on board the experimental electric vehicle is connected directly to the “residential” junction box and to a backup power source with a capacity of 9 kWh. Direct transmission of direct current without conversion significantly reduces losses and leads to increased efficiency of these platforms.
It is obvious that owners of home solar installations can take advantage of this advantage immediately and at virtually no cost. These people already have all the necessary infrastructure at home to collect and use solar energy and are probably familiar with the surplus system for the general network.
Audi believes that its proposal will force people to actively deploy solar installations at home, which will be an indirect benefit after the advent of electric vehicles with built-in solar panels. During the day, this electric car can sell electricity to the grid, which is expensive at this time of day and, at night, charges batteries from the city's electricity grid at discounted rates. Unfortunately, the commercial availability of the project has not been reported.
