Company works on new model with turbo engine

Yamaha started working on supercharging technology in 2017, and now Casa de Iwata engineers are developing a range of turbocharged engines to equip their new generation of high-performance motorcycles, and have been experimenting with turbocharged engines with two different architectures.
One configuration is really unusual, with the turbocharger installed inside the exhaust, while the other configuration installs the turbocharger close to the exhaust manifold, which is the conventional system and most used in today's turbo engines, a method that uses the exhaust gases themselves of the engine to drive the turbine that forces the pressurized charge air in the combustion chamber, allowing more fuel to burn in the combustion process.
The use of turbine engines is on the rise because it is an easy way to inject more power into the engines, without compromising the increase in emissions. Currently, motorcycle manufacturers have increased the engine capacity of their engines to maintain power and performance and meet the latest and most stringent pollutant emission standards.

In the mid-2010s, Yamaha filed a patent for a turbocharged 847 cm³ three-cylinder parallel engine, based on the MT-09 CP3 engine, and also a 560 cm³ parallel bicylindrical engine, which, when turbocharged, could yield tripled, reaching 150 hp of power.
As the use of a turbocharger does not require a high cylinder capacity to achieve high performance, the engines are smaller and lighter and fit perfectly into the new emission standards.

It is not yet known what Yamaha plans, but as the tuning fork brand is famous for launching new trends, it is very likely that an innovative category will emerge, or a super sports naked to fight the Z H2, or even a retro look, speculating that Yamaha would be thinking of a replica of the FZ750 from the 1985s, as Suzuki did with the relaunch of the famous Katana. When it comes to innovation, Yamaha does not play in service.
