Stoner: It is disappointing to see Rossi denigrate on a satellite team

Australian who has been out of the MotoGP paddock for eight years gave his opinion on Yamaha's stunt, promoting Fabio Quartararo and taking Valentino Rossi off the official team.
The announcement of the hiring of Fabio Quartararo for the official Yamaha team and, consequently, the departure of Valentino Rossi after 15 seasons defending the colors of the official team is possibly one of the most important news of recent years in MotoGP.
Even so, the maneuver was treated with a positive approach, after guaranteeing Yamaha would give the Italian a cutting edge bike, with full support from the factory if he decided to continue competing on the Petronas satellite team.
The truth is proving different. Lin Jarvis, head of the team, never tires of repeating that Rossi's signature with Petronas depends exclusively on those responsible for the team based in Kuala Lumpur, and negotiations between the parties are stalled.
Few people dare to put their finger on the wound and openly admit that the renewal of Maverick Viñales and the signature of Quartararo are, in fact, Rossi's resignation.
Who did this was Australian Casey Stoner, Rossi's former rival, who considers the legacy of the # 46 to be diluted as he postpones his retirement.
“I don't know how Valentino thinks, it is impossible to know. But I think that if he had retired early, he would have left a legacy that he will somehow still leave. But now it is much more vulnerable, ”said Stoner in an interview with FOX Asia.
Stoner is also of the opinion that Rossi could end up racing at Petronas.
"It is disappointing to see someone denigrate on a satellite team in a seat that would have been disputed by a paying driver in another era," he said.
Rossi has managed to take the podium twice in the last 28 races, a detail that did not escape Stoner.
"I think Valentino still has the potential to achieve great results and even fight for victories, I have no doubts about that. The talent is not lost. What is sad is not to see him fighting for the podium as many times as before."
