Newgarden bills pole position for Indy's Texas 300

Josef Newgarden has won pole position for the Texas 300, proof that opens the 2020 Indy season. In the standings held on Saturday Night (6) at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, the Penske driver, reigning champion and last to enter the track for his two fast laps, scored 48s0578, securing the position of honor for the race soon more. The second position was with Scott Dixon, driver of Chip Ganassi who ended up surpassed in 0s0166 by Newgarden. Simon Pagenaud, with a second car from Penske, took the third place in the grid, while Ryan Hunter-Reay, from Andretti Autosport, will start in fourth. The group of the top five was completed by Zach Veach, also a pilot of Michael Andretti's team. Will Power, with another Penske car, took sixth position, followed by Graham Rahal of Rahal Letterman Lanigan and Alexander Rossi of Andretti Autosport, drivers who will form the fourth row. Chip Ganassi's Felix Rosenqvist was the ninth fastest, while Tony Kanaan, who starts his Indy farewell season, will start in tenth with AJ Foyt's car.
The rating was still marked by an accident with Takuma Sato. On the first of the two quick turns that each driver needs to make, the Japanese Rahal Letterman Lanigan lost control of the car in one of the turns, turned and filled the wall, causing the definition of the starting positions to be interrupted.
