HONDA

CITY HATCHBACK WILL ARRIVE IN 2021

The Japanese brand is working on a new proposal for the new generation of Honda City, which in this renewal will debut an unprecedented version of the hatchback body, which will hit the market next year.
The new five-access Honda City will replace Fit (Jazz) in some countries as an entry-level model, initially in Asia, but also in Latin America, as the hatchback will also be produced alongside the sedan version at Honda's Brazilian factory in Itirapina, interior of São Paulo.
The Japanese manufacturer has not yet revealed the design of the City hatchback version, however, the first images corresponding to the industrial design record have already appeared, which were used to perform the recreations that appear in the images.
Externally it retains the main features of the sedan, with the logical modifications in the rear, which include a shorter overhang, in addition to a different angle of inclination when the roof falls and a thick rear pillar, two elements that form the hatchback body.

The new generation of Honda City will be equipped, at least in Asia, with a 1.5 i-VTEC engine of 120 hp and 145 Nm of maximum torque, in addition to a 1.5 i-DTEC diesel of 100 hp and 200 Nm of maximum torque, in both cases in combination with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT-type automatic.
Possibly in Brazil the 3-cylinder 1.0 liter turbocharged engine powered by 120 hp is also used, also with a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission that simulates 7 ratios.
The global presentation of the 5-door version of Honda City will take place until the end of this year 2020 and its commercial launch is expected for the first months of 2021, initially in Asia and later in Latin America and other regions.
