DAKAR 2020
PETERHANSEL wins, Fernando Alonso is the twelfth
Stéphane Peterhansel (Mini Buggy) won today's stage of the Dakar, with 2m26s of advance to Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota) with Carlos Sainz (Mini Buggy), recovering in the final stage of the tirade and giving ‘only’ 7m18s to his teammate.
Yazeed Al Rajhi (Toyota) was fourth in front of Mathieu Serradori (Buggy Century) with Giniel de Villiers (Toyota) following his modest Dakar.
Bernhard Ten Brinke (Toyota) was seventh, ahead of Jakub Przygonski (Mini) and Orlando Terranova (Mini), with Fernando Alonso (Toyota) losing 26m21s to Peterhansel.
In this way, Carlos Sainz (Mini Buggy) maintains the lead, but now only with 3m03s advance to Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota).
The good news is that Stéphane Peterhansel and Paulo Fiúza (Mini Buggy) move from fifth to third, now 11: 42 from the front.
The fact that it has won today's stage will create difficulties tomorrow, but the Portuguese-French duo must attack so as not to ‘take off’ their main opponents.
Yazeed Al Rajhi (Toyota) holds fourth place, but now a little further away from the front, with Orlando Terranova (Mini) falling from third to fifth, accentuating the tendency of the three main favorites to gradually stand out from the other competition.
Mathieu Serradori (Buggy Century) continues to perform his good test, very consistent and at a good pace. Below expected is Giniel De Villiers (Toyota), which is only seventh, now the leader's 34m40s. It has about 10 minutes ahead of Bernhard Ten Brinke (Toyota), who is eighth.
