BRAND LAUNCHES ELETRIFIED TRUCK IN BRAZIL

JAC Motors officially announces today that it will launch iET 1200, the first commercial vehicle with 100% electric propulsion brand in Brazil. Brought to China, which accounts for more than half of all electric models in the world, the JAC iET 1200 will debut electrification in a segment of the national market - semi-light and light trucks - which represented around 15,000 units sold in 2018. But with one detail: the overwhelming majority was acquired to transport urban cargoes, circulating in large cities.
The acronym iET 1200 identifies the term Intelligent Energy Truck, while the '1200' exhibits one of the biggest advantages of the model: maximum torque. At 1,200 Nm, equivalent to the value used in conventional diesel engines for 25- to 30-ton PBT trucks, the iET 1200 will be extremely welcome to transport urban loads with all that driving force, gaining agility absolutely incomparable in major centers. The power will be 177 hp.
To be sold here, Grupo SHC, representative of JAC Motors in Brazil, has chosen, among several configurations of battery capacity and equipment, the option of 97 kWh, which yields a range of 200 km.
Before launching it in Brazil, the SHC Group carried out in-depth research to identify the type of use of these trucks in the cities. Judging from what they run, autonomy is more than enough. "And we must consider the two great advantages of the 100% electric truck: the zero emissions of pollutants and the very low operating cost. While the diesel-powered truck requires a cost of R$150(local currenncy) to run 200 km in the city, the JAC iET 1200 will spend R$ 30! "Explains Sergio Habib, president of SHC Group and JAC Motors Brazil.
According to the executive, this direct savings of R$ 120 reais per day (around R$2.5 thousand / month) will make the JAC iET 1200 extremely attractive to small customers or large fleet owners, as well as fuel there is a substantial savings in maintenance cost. Available throughout the JAC Motors authorized network, the iET 1200 will begin shipping to the first customers later this year. The pre-sale starts today, May 30. The suggested value is R$259,900(local currency).
To be recharged, the JAC iET 1200 will require a 220 volt and 17 hour jack in slow charge mode. If the voltage is three-phase and 380 V, it will be 'stocked' in just 2 hours. Autonews
