Small sports cars were never hot sellers, but cars like these are now fading in popularity at an extreme rate. For this reason, it's not much of a surprise that the 2020 Mercedes-Benz SLC will be the last model year for the German automaker's long-running small two-door.
The SLC will be shipped in style with both SLC 300 Final Edition and SLC 43 AMG Final Edition models being introduced for 2020, which The SLC300 Final Edition will feature high gloss black exterior trim, SLC Final Edition fender badges, 5-spoke AMG 18- inch alloy wheels with a black gloss finish and a two-tone black and silver Nappa leather interior with gray stitching. The only available outer color is Selenite Gray.
SLC 43 AMG Final Edition models, meanwhile, receive similar equipment, such as gloss black exterior trim, SLC Final Edition fender badges, 18-inch AMG wheels and a two-tone black and silver leather interior with an AMG steering wheel. You will be able to see the SLC 43 AMG Final Edition from an SLC 300 Final Edition, though the SLC 43 AMG will be sold in Sun Yellow only, which is similar to the Yellowstone shade of the original SLK was introduced in more than 20 years ago. The first-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK was introduced at the 1997 Turin Motor Show, with the second-gen model being rolled out in 2004. The third-generation model the current SLC is based on was first introduced in 2011 and was renamed the SLC when it was last updated in 2016.
Pricing for the 2020 SLC 43 AMG Final Edition and SLC 300 Final Edition has yet to be announced. The sports cars are not expected to go on sale in the US until next year.
