YAMAHA

Ténéré Restomod - The Spirit of Dakar 1992

With the Dakar already rolling we have the nostalgia to remember the machines that made history in the past, and the Yamaha Ténéré left a deep mark on the biggest Rally OffRoad in the world.
This preparation carried out by the Italians of North East Custom, based in Padua, in a "Restomod" spirit, which means restoring the former with modern components, transports us precisely to the golden age of the 1990s of the Yamaha Super Ténéré.
Based on a 1992 Super Ténéré, the North East Customs, managed by the Coppiello brothers, wanted precisely to revive this spirit of the Dakar, giving it a touch of modernity. Thus all the work of restyling of the Super Ténéré was realized taking into account the style of the contemporary Rally / Raid bikes. The front of it, produced entirely in a handcrafted fiberglass form, despite integrating the headlights and the original instrumentation immediately denotes the style of modern Rally bikes.
North East Custom also maintained the original Super Ténéré tank of 26 liters. However, all the work on the rear of the bike was done from the root where we see a Rally Raid style mudguard and side covers also redesigned according to a more current style and that integrate a new seat specially designed and lined with material used today up-to-date on modern enduro bikes.

On the sides we can see some red plates that once removed show a specially welded supports to the frame in which all kinds of systems can be assembled to facilitate the transport of luggage.

At the rear a Bitubo shock absorber was fitted and in the front suspensions also new Bitubo springs to increase their rigidity and performance. The wheels remained the same but with Continental TKC80 tires. The brake discs have been replaced and the front brake pump is AC. The engine has not been changed and only a K & N racing filter has been installed and the carburetors adjusted with the mounting of a Dynojet kit. Two auxiliary side lights and Givi's support were also fitted to place a smartphone because the bike is not intended for competing use. The finish was given a more up-to-date deterioration of the style of the 80s / 90s in two shades, brilliant white and matte black, achieving a perfect mix between the classic style and the most contemporary image of the current rally bikes. Definitely a good proposition for anyone looking for a Brembo neo-classic.ora dual-sport motorcycle.
