RENAULT

The new 2.0 dCi of 200 hp of the brand
Most countries have been aggressively pursuing diesel engines, but the CO2 limit of 95g imposed on manufacturers in 2020 requires them to offer more electric and hybrid plug-in vehicles, and for those who want to opt for engines that burn fossil fuels (which will be the majority), a number of modern diesel engines because they emit much less CO2 than their rivals in gasoline.
It is curious that it is from one of the countries that speaks the most against diesel engines - a purely political stance and without any technical justification - to have a manufacturer, Renault, with four new diesel units. All of them for the mid and high range of the Gallic brand, where from the announced figures the diesel engines easily have a 2 liter advantage in average consumption and 30g of CO2, compared to its competitors gasoline, trump that can increase to double in real conditions of use, evaluation method that will soon be adopted.

The most powerful unit among the four diesel engines is the 2.0 dCi, which supplies 200 hp and 400 Nm, known internally as the Blue dCi 200. Everything in this unit was thought to lower consumption and emissions, starting by reducing frictions (2500 bar), electronically controlled variable geometry turbo, and NOx treatment with urea injection mounted closer to the engine (for example, in the case of cylinders and eccentric shafts, better management of explosion times, plus 30% collect the gases at a higher temperature). Intended for use by Espace and Talisman, the 2.0 Blue dCi 200 will also be proposed in a 160 hp version, which replaces the previous 1.6 dCi biturbo with the same pA Renault is still preparing to introduce, before the end of the year, the new 1.7 Blue dCi, which replaces the old diesel 1.6 dCi, with powers of 120 and 150 hp, for the 5th new engine of the brand is the TCe 225 EDC gasoline, known 1.6 but already equipped with a particulate filter, to be in accordance with the requirements of the WLTP.otência standard, providing a further 20 Nm.
