HYUNDAI-KIA

Ще има ли още соларни панели по колите?
Vehicles in the group will be recharged in the sun

The Sono Motors tram is a proposal that has the peculiarity of charging in the sun, with all the advantages that this contributes in terms of low costs of use and smaller constraints in the field of autonomy. The idea seems to be captivating a growing number of fans and is approaching reality, now not by the hand of a virtually unknown startup, but by a large automotive group. This is because the South Korean giant Hyundai-Kia has just confirmed that, from 2019, some of its models will integrate photovoltaic panels. And we are not talking exclusively about trams, but also hybrids and automobiles powered by diesel or gasoline. The objective, regardless of the propulsion in question, is to increase efficiency and autonomy, while reducing CO2 emissions. But this idea is not new. Just remember that the first generation of the Leaf incorporated a small panel next to the rear spoiler and that Toyota endowed the Prius with a roof lined with photovoltaic cells. In the case of the South Koreans, the technology being developed contemplates three different solutions. Hybrids are reserved for serially produced solar panels that will be mounted on a common roof. This feature, the South Korean group estimates, can guarantee between 30 and 60% of the (small) battery charge per day, with efficiency depending naturally on weather conditions. The models with internal combustion engine will be able to lower CO2 emissions through semi-transparent adjustable solar panels, which will occupy the place reserved for the panoramic roof. The third technology is still being developed, but it intends to combine photovoltaic panels on the roof and the bonnet of the vehicle in order to maximize energy production, which will increase the reach of the electric.Considering the modest yield that this solution has so far offered, given the high cost it will be interesting to see how Hyundai-Kia is considering solar charging.
