AVEVAI

AVEVAI Elektro-Van
Singapore e-van with 330 km range from 2019 in Europe

From Singapore to Europe, it will go from 2019 for the e-van by AVEVAI. The Singapore start-up has announced its new electric van at the Guangzhou International Electric Vehicles Show in China. This was created in cooperation with Daimler and the Chinese manufacturer Foton, the latter operate a joint venture with Daimler. The drive of the rear wheel drive van has a supercap hybrid battery technology, which is to help the transporter to a range of 330 kilometers (according to NEDC). A longer life cycle of the battery should be achieved by the lithium-manganese battery with 80 kWh capacity is combined with so-called supercaps. This is possible because the acceleration and recuperation energy is taken from the faster reacting caching.
Furthermore, the system should be able to recover 85 percent of the recuperation energy, which further increases efficiency. The graphene-based supercapacitors (GEMS) used in the AVEVAI e-vans are responsible for E-Synergy, a Singaporean specialist in environmentally friendly battery systems. The e-van is charged at a 22 kW charging station within four hours.

Worth mentioning is the fact that the battery can handle extreme weather conditions. Say, from minus 40 to plus 70 degrees this should work. As already mentioned, the electric vans are powered by a motor on the rear axle. For this AVEVAI relies on a 100 kW synchronous electric motor with 360 Nm of torque, the maximum speed is limited to 100 km / h.
The use in the delivery area is conceivable. So the van is to have up to 18 m³ loading volume and 2,000 kg payload, with a curb weight of 2,600 kilos and a total weight of 4,250 kilos. In the interior of the vehicle using a 10-inch color display to provide the latest connectivity and telematics functions, including the vehicle condition and the battery data can be observed here. The e-van is initially manufactured by Foton in Shangdong / China. Because there, the e-vans should first come on the market.
The US market and the European market will then follow as well. Due to increasing entry restrictions, it is hoped that there will be an increasing demand for electrically driven low-emission vans. In addition, there should be an electrically powered light truck with 2.65 tonnes gross weight (1.6 to curb weight) as a suitcase, flatbed and refrigerated box variant, which has a lithium ternary battery with 44.4 kWh capacity with up to 300 km range and powered by a 30 kW synchronous motor.
Inset: Foton should be well known in the context of Borgward. Due to increasing losses at Borgward, the Chinese truck manufacturer Foton, owner of the brand, is apparently in search of fresh money. Foton has announced 67 percent of its stake in Mar.
