HONDA
THE PAST AND PRESENT
Honda will be present at the Glemseck 101 festival this weekend in Leonberg, Germany, with six custom bikes and participation in the 1/5 mile "Sprint International" event for guests.Three of these bikes are based on classic models of Honda's past:The CX500 - with its cross-mounted V-twin engine - has long been one of the favorite models in personalization studios and the winning version created by Michael Michael of Libra Coachworks (Dartford, UK) is an extraordinary example of this , full of hand-made details, from the cross-stitched bench to the signature "exhaust".Another of the very favorite models of the Custom domain is the first mass-produced superbike, the CB750. Kaspeed Customs (the father and his two sons of the Karsten family) spent over 200 hours working on their hand-crafted Kaspeed CB750; using a 3D CAD software, created a beautiful and balanced effect with a new aluminum front wing, a custom elongated fuel tank and a classic coffee racer bench.
The remaining three bikes are based on models from the current Honda range:Monkey has proved to be an instant success since returning to Honda's production for Europe this summer. This iconic model combines modern components such as a USD fork in the front, two-shock rear suspension, LCS instrument panel, ABS with IMU unit and complete LED illumination, with the classic proportions and look of Monkey.
Not infrequently, Monkey has been the motorcycle of choice for the campsites for those who choose to go on holiday in a car and also for light off-road rides; this year for the Glemseck 101 festival, Dirk Öhlerking from the German custom studio Kingston Customs put more emphasis on the offroad slope of Monkey thanks to a Flat-Tracker drapery. Your Monkey Tracker displays a number of customizations, including a modified frame, flat-tracker style handlebar, hand-made bench, new exhaust, footwells from an Elsinore 125 from 1976 and gold and tricolor chromatic scheme.
Another addition to the Honda range of 2018 - the CB1000R - will be present in Glemseck in two customized versions. The first CB1000R Neo Daemon was developed in Germany by designer Jens Kratschmar, with reflective finishes printed on vinyl, enticing white exotic exhaust and new components at the level of the handlebar, levers, brake lines, blinkers and tires. The second was created by the Honda Racing team in the UK to take part in the "Sprint International" race by the experienced Mick Doohan, 5 times 500cc GP Motorcycle World Champion. With the Öhlins suspensions of the Fireblade SP, Akrapovic exhaust, Brembo brakes, custom clutch and swingarm, Rizoma accessories and a beautiful golden / tricolor color, the Glemseck CB1000R displays all the strong sporting and performance characteristics of the Neo Sports Café roadster, exclusive of Honda.

These six models represent an eclectic mix that encompasses the decades and breadth of Honda's product range, while at the same time underlining Soichiro Honda's maxim that "True happiness is at the conclusion of the work using our own thinking capabilities." And they are all in tune with the spirit of freedom and creativity underlying the Glemseck 101 festival - the biggest motorcycle event of its kind in Europe.
