SCANIA
THE TRUE 'MACHINE OF DREAMS'
The New Generation Scania will reach the Brazilian market only two years after its launch in Europe. Applications begin at the end of October and deliveries start in February 2019.Unlike Europe, here the whole line will be released at the same time. The cabin is brand new inside and out. Adding all the advantages, the total diesel economy could be up to 12%. Only new engines equipped with new high-pressure technology guarantee up to 8% reduction in fuel consumption compared to the engines in the current line, which are already recognized by the economy.
The New Generation Scania, just as in the global version and the current national line, brings the irreversible benefits of connectivity."It's not just a product that comes to revolutionize the national market, but the way to sell the new generation will be very different from now on by the Scania network," says Silvio Munhoz, Scania's commercial director in Brazil. The new cabins were developed with the highest technology available in the market and from the perspective of the driver.
No part of the cabin of the current line P, G and R has been reused in the new line. It is a characteristic of Scania to privilege the driver in the creation of his product, something that makes all the difference in the day to day of the work in the transport sector. The driver's positioning was reallocated so that it had better external visibility and the panel was demoted. With this, the ergonomics are even more adequate and there is increased safety in driving. There is even greater braking force to help reduce acidentes.
"From the current line P, G and R, we will go from 7 options to 19 types of variant combinations of the new R, S, P, G and XT cabins for uneven floors. It is a very big breakthrough for the customer to increase the cost reduction in the operation, "says Munhoz. The S cab is one of the main novelties for Brazil, because it brings the flat floor as a greater advantage, which improves the driver's internal displacement, providing more comfort. "The challenge is to create a mix of cabins that can deliver the right solutions and functionality for all applications and demands," he adds.Cab aerodynamics were tested in Europe's largest wind tunnel, delivering fuel savings of up to 2%.
Brazil will make the world premiere of the new 540 hp engine. In fact, the line of propellers will have news in the powers of: 220, 280, 320, 410 and 500 hp. And in the field of sustainability, the launch comes with five new engines, powered by NGV / Biomethane (two options) and bioethanol (three options). It will be the first NGV / Biomethane powered truck in the world. Scania is moving ahead with alternative fuels.
