MERCEDES-AMG CLA 45: THE FIRST IMAGES
We are still a few months away from knowing the definitive aspect of the new generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLA, the sedan version of the line of compact models of the German brand. This model should continue the success achieved by the first generation of the model and will be positioned next to the new Mercedes-Benz A Class Sedan, as both will be well differentiated options.


This new series of prototype photographs shows the first sighted copy of the AMG version of the new Mercedes-Benz CLA, since until now only units of the regular versions of the model had appeared. These are, therefore, the first photographs that appear of the successor of the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC.


Despite the abundant camouflage used by this specimen, the differences from the regular units sighted earlier are evident. This has a new configuration of body and chassis, clearly more aggressive.On the front we can see how the bumper is totally new, with lateral air intakes with horizontal blades, although they are hidden, appear under the mesh that partially covers them. Only one side grille appears, the other is completely covered by the adhesive, so it is very likely that only one is functional. The main grille is also new, Pan-American type, as in the sports versions of the German brand.


On the side we can see how the wheels are slightly larger than those normally assemble the CLA test units, in addition, the model is a little closer to the ground, which indicates the presence of a lowered suspension and more than likely hardened. At the rear we also notice a new bulb, more bulky and prominent, but the most enlightening detail is the exhaust outputs, since this exemplar has four large circular exhaust outlets, located at the lower ends of the bumper. Among them we find a diffuser with very sharp vertical fins.


This version will feature a supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with a power output of more than 400 hp, which can be found in the AMG versions of the A-hatchback, which is also under development at the moment. For now, we can not tell if the AMG version that appears in these images will also suffer a change of denomination, being renamed CLA 50.
