The 4.4-liter and 530-hp power unit dedicated to the BMW M Performance sports car began to be produced in the traditional BMW Group factory, where the latest high-tech processes and the skill of experienced specialists are incorporated into a manufacturing methodology that is characterized by the highest degree of quality expertise.As a result, the extraordinary character of the new V8 engine ensures driving pleasure and excitement through its race-inspired performance. The assembly of this high performance unit is performed using the precision of the workmanship of highly qualified specialists, who put each engine in an individual manufacturing process. The engine block and the head of the new V8 are delivered in Munich by the light metal smelting plant of the BMW Group in Landshut, also located in Germany.
With the addition of the new V8 engine at its headquarters in Munich, the BMW Group praises the importance of engine construction at its long established, traditional location. The competence of the specialists dedicated to the assembly of particularly efficient and complex propellers at the BMW plant in Munich is also used in the production of the current six- and eight-cylinder engines of BMW M cars as well as for 12-cylinder engines for the BMW M760Li xDrive and models of the Rolls-Royce brand, also belonging to the BMW Group. This initiative ensures compliance with the highest standards of quality to meet the prerequisites of outstanding performance and maximum driving pleasure of the new BMW M850i ​​xDrive Coupe.
