NEW IMAGES OF THE NEW CROSSOVER PREMIUM FRENCH
Shortly after the casting of the model thanks to some patent sketches, the first recreations of the new DS 3 Crossback created from the sketches appear. These renders show how the model will be presented in October at the Salon de Paris 2018.The lines of the new model are a twist on the design language of the French brand with some details of the current DS 3, such as the base of the shark fin B-pillar, and the LED daytime front lighting located in the two vertical gills.The arrival of this model is crucial for the Premium division of the PSA group, because with the disappearance of DS 4 and DS 5, in the dealers of the brand will only be found the DS 3 - a model already well veteran and near its extinction - and the newly revealed DS 7, which has just hit the streets.

It is based on the CMP platform of PSA and will have a large line of engines, as in addition to the 100, 130 and 155 HP PureTech gasoline blocks, the brand plans to launch a Sport version equipped with the PureTech engine of 1.6 liters and about 230 hp . The diesel offer will consist of the BlueHDi 1.5-liter engine in two power versions: 100 and 130 hp. The two transmission options available will be a six-speed manual and the EAT8 automatic 8-ratio.

The new compact crossover will have a length of 4.15 meters, so it points directly to the Audi Q2, but will also rival the more expensive versions of the subcompact crossover segment. It will also be one of the first models of the segment to have a pure electric version, as the brand plans to launch in 2019 an E-Tense version of the new DS 3 Crossback powered by batteries. This new 100% electric version will generate about 120 hp and its batteries will allow you to reach around 450 kilometers of autonomy.The commercialization of this E-Tense version will begin just one year after the presentation of the model in the second half of 2019. You will not find many rivals in the market, because with this type of mechanics there is only the Kia Soul EV and the new Hyundai Kona electric, the first of them already veteran and both framed in the generalist part of the market, therefore do not count on the Premium character of the DS 3 Crossback.
