TOYOTA
New Toyota Aygo available from September
Since its launch in 2014, the current AYGO has been a notable success for Toyota in the European A segment. The immediately recognizable front design in 'X' which has become its signature, and the wide range of customization options available ensure that this is a car that stands out always on the road.Designed for a more fashion-conscious audience than customers who buy their automobile for purely rational reasons, AYGO's impressive looks and driving make it one of Toyota's most capable models to attract new buyers and win sales. In 2017, AYGO was among the models with the highest demand in segment A, with more than 85,000 units sold and a share of the segment of 6.6%. The new AYGO further enhances the unique DNA and outstanding positioning of this model in the highly competitive A-segment. Toyota's designers and engineers have not only strengthened their youthful and distinctive image as they have made motorization even more efficient, while at the same time raising performance and road behavior to provide even more fun driving.
A contemporary look and improved interior finishes
The new AYGO keeps its iconic front signature in "X", but evolved from a two-dimensional graphics to a three-dimensional architectural element with more impact. The distinctive new front design incorporates sets of redesigned Keen Look headlights with integral daytime running lights (DRL) further enhancing the impressive look of the AYGO at first glance. The lower section fits the front grille, emphasizing the stable position of the AYGO and the agility inherent in a compact vehicle. While the ornamentation below the headlights - available in Black, Glossy Black or Silver - accentuates the signature "X" and the width of the vehicle. In profile, the three-dimensional frontal shape combines with the newly redesigned outer lenses in the rear optical groups to reinforce the visual connection between the front and the rear, creating a sense of forward motion and greater dynamism. At the rear, the new LED light guides give the AYGO a sophisticated look and make this model instantly recognizable. The unique light signature creates the perception of a compact passenger compartment over a wider area of the lower bumper, to emphasize the width and the rear stability of the vehicle. The new exterior styling is completed with a choice of eight body colors, two of which are new - Rich Blue Metallic (exclusive of the x-clusiv version) and Magenta Splash Metallic (exclusive of the x-cite version). The creation of 15 new wheel caps with a technical appearance and the new 15 "alloy wheels - with a unique design for each level of equipment - further reinforce the premium look of the new AYGO.
Onboard, improved graphics of binocular instrumentation now have a more three-dimensional effect and a new lighting color. It adopted a gray quartz and black piano lacquered color scheme and new seating fabrics were created for most of the equipment. The remaining color schemes and fabrics specific to each device are described in detail in the chapter Equipment Equipment Design and Customization.
More efficient and even more fun to drive
Toyota's award-winning 998cc, 3-cylinder, 12-valve, Dual-camshaft, Toyota's Dual VVT-i now complies with the Euro 6.2 standard. This unit has been thoroughly revised, combining an optimal balance of power and fuel consumption with superior torque provided at lower engine speeds for even more positive driving experience in urban traffic. The new AYGO is available in both the standard and Eco versions. The latter is available in Portugal, which uses a higher 4th and 5th speeds, low rolling resistance tires (RRC), Toyota Stop & Start system and aerodynamic improvements. The standard version has a fuel consumption of only 4.1 l / 100 km and CO2 emissions of only 93 g / km. The Eco version (not available in Portugal) features leading-edge fuel economy values of only 3.8 l / 100 km and CO2 emissions of only 86 g / km.
Transmission x-shift (MMT)The x-shift is available as an option in the new AYGO. This automated manual transmission has a fully automatic shift mode without clutch pedal, using computer control to synchronize the engine, clutch and transaxle to ensure fast and accurate gearboxes. When the E (Easy Mode), M (Manual) or R (Reverse) positions are engaged, the car "slides" like a conventional automatic car. In E mode, the system selects the change according to the position of the accelerator pedal, vehicle speed and driving conditions. The x-shift box of the new AYGO allows you to perform the kick-down function known in automatic transmissions for the rapid reduction of one or more changes when the throttle is depressed. In addition, it is possible to make the driver's instructions prevail temporarily on the system using the steering wheel-mounted lugs. Selecting the M mode allows the driver to manually pass through the selector lever itself or with the tabs. When equipped with the x-shift transmission, the new AYGO can record a fuel consumption of 4.2 l / 100 km and generate CO2 emissions of just 95 g / km.
The new AYGO equipment level structure has been developed to attract even greater audiences, thanks to a special focus on the high end of the segment. Each level of equipment features unique design elements that are easily recognizable by the front bumper, the specific alloy wheels and interior trim / trim. From entry level x, through intermediate x-play and ending in top-of-the-line x-clusiv, each level has been tailored to suit the tastes and needs of different target customers.
Multimedia
The Display Audio base multimedia system uses a 7 "color tactile screen fully integrated in the edge panel - x-touch, with a rear view camera, as standard.Rear View Monitor SystemThe rear view monitoring system can help the driver to park or maneuver in tight spaces. It is activated whenever the reverse gear is engaged, using a rear camera to project an image of the area behind the car into the fully colored monitor on the x-touch 7 "center console.
