GT-R Nismo GT3 now available for sale
Nissan Motorsport International Co., Ltd. (NISMO) has just launched the 2018 model of the NISSAN GT-R NISMO GT3, which is based on the NISSAN GT-R (R35) NISMO and complies with the FIA GT3 regulations . The manufacturing is only made to order and deliveries are planned for January 2019.NISMO launched the first NISSAN GT-R NISMO GT3 in 2012 and has been providing it to customers worldwide including Japan, Europe, America, China and Australia. The super-sport of Nissan has been gaining victories including the championship titles in the SUPER GT GT300 class and the Blancpain Endurance Series (currently the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup) as well as the 12-hour general victory at Bathurst (Australia) in 2015.The 2018 model is now ready for launch and reflects significant advances on the proven NISSAN GT-R (R35) NISMO base, taking full advantage of the lessons learned from actual racing data accumulated since the launch of the model. NISMO was aiming for 2018 to create a vehicle that would take advantage of all the strengths of the GT-R, and to be able to compete with stability and speed on any circuit and with any tire brand.
More specifically, the weight distribution was optimized and the center of gravity was lowered by fitting the motor 150 mm further back and lower than in the previous model. Simultaneously, the front and rear suspensions and the stabilizer bar were created from scratch to enhance the GT-R's dynamics. In addition to the rigorous tests conducted in Japan and other countries since April last year, participation in several series this season in GT-R GT3 performed a total of 30,000 km of testing. Thus the 2018 proposal represents a strong improvement in competitiveness, through increases in its fundamental performance and, at the same time, greater ease of driving, both for professional drivers and for gentleman drivers, and icing on the cake, a reliability.
"In order to develop the NISSAN GT-R NISMO GT3 2018 model, NISMO, as Nissan's official sports arm, has made full use of the advanced technology and knowledge we have gained over our vast experience in competition. This car was built to be competitive on GT3 races anywhere in the world, "said Takao Katagiri, CEO of NISMO. "During its first year of development in competition, it has already demonstrated its high performance by achieving achievements as a 3rd place in the podium in the GT SUPER GT of Japan (class GT300) and a 3rd place overall of the Blancpain GT Series Asia . I would like to thank our official partner teams deeply for being the first to choose and demonstrate the full potential of the GT-R; we now expect that several teams around the world will be able to compete with the NISSAN GT-R NISMO GT3 2018 model.
Development characteristics of the NISSAN GT-R NISMO GT3 of 2018:Lower center of gravity and optimized weight distribution; improved dynamics thanks to the new suspension; optimum balance between downforce and aerodynamic drag; improvements in front and back stiffness (bending, twisting) and greater linearity; Dry sump system contributes to low center of gravity and more lubrication reliability; extended maintenance cycle thanks to new transmission; reinforced brakes with greater durability and reliability; air conditioning system designed exclusively to reduce driver stress and provide comfort during endurance events (available as an option).
