MOTO GUZZI

A concept that will launch a new family of motorcycles

The V85 concept that was presented in Milan in the past EICMA Hall in Milan represents a new Moto Guzzi challenge for the future as the brand intends to extend its current product offering, which currently includes a range of classic bikes with their V7 and V9 and the cruisers of great displacement, having the model Stelvio left a space that is now intended to fill with new bikes that will be born from the new platform V85.The V85 was developed preserving all the values and traditions of Moto Guzzi and equipping the new twin-cylinder with more power so as to give greater pleasure in driving and explore the brand's sporting history in the 80's with its rally and raid bikes, a reality that inspired the design of the V85 and defined the lines and classic aesthetics of the concept that was presented in Milan.

With the V85 Moto Guzzi intends to recover the former off-road tradition of the brand when in 1939 the brand won four gold medals in a race in Austria, the Six Day Reliability Trial with a Guzzi GT20. Later in 1985 Moto Guzzi also participated in the Paris Dakar, this time with a V75 Baja, based on the standard model of the height, and betting on the robustness and reliability of its engine and agility of the set.

The objective now is to have in its range a true adventure touring bike, recovering the spirit that once led the brand to participate in the Dakar, a segment that has been growing in the sector and that has been dominated by BMW with its GS and where we see many other brands betting heavily. The V85 therefore meets this market demand and positions itself by offering a technologically advanced product that combines classic styling lines with the performance and functionality of a bike with current technology for daily use on small commutes or for large many kms in all the type of roads being able to venture also outside the same.

The engine of the V85 is brand new and with 850cc the 90º cross-cylinder at 90º of Moto Guzzi now has 80CV of power, which promises to continue the classic sporty look of the brand but reach a new level of performance, certainly with a considerable torque at low and medium rotations so characteristic of Guzzi engines.

This new engine will certainly serve to develop other models in other market segments by increasing and updating the current range of Moto Guzzi bikes and maintaining the characteristic style of the brand defined by the character provided by its twin-cylinder engines.
