eSPRINTER 2019 WILL HAVE 150 KM OF AUTONOMY

Mercedes-Benz has set out to electrify its family of commercial vehicles. Electrification and sustainable mobility are becoming relevant players within the commercial divisions of the major car manufacturers. Companies like Renault and Nissan have long been betting on electric vans. In the case of the German brand, its first proposal was the Mercedes-Benz eVito, to which a new model will soon be added.The Mercedes-Benz eSprinter launch is scheduled for 2019. The third-generation Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, which can already be found in dealerships, will feature a fully electric version in Europe. It will be the first time in Sprinter's history that the model will count on its offer with such a version. During its presentation, Mercedes-Benz revealed only technical details about the electric version of the Sprinter. Now we know the most relevant numbers of this interesting option.The line of the new Mercedes-Benz eSprinter will be composed of two types of batteries: 41 kWh and 55 kWh. The first one will allow the German van to announce a range of 115 kilometers in unfavorable conditions, such as low temperatures and carrying the maximum possible load, 1,040 kilos. On the other hand, the second battery, the one of greater capacity, will offer a minimum autonomy of 150 kilometers.The fact that Mercedes-Benz offers the autonomy numbers in unfavorable conditions indicates that by performing efficient and low-load transport, the new Mercedes-Benz eSprinter can easily overcome the 200-kilometer barrier on a single charge.The maximum speed that the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter will be able to reach will be around 120 km / h, although the brand will put a special emphasis on the fact that 80 km / h will be more than enough to drive through urban environments. Regarding the recharging times of the battery, it will be between 6 and 8 hours using the 7.2 kW on-board charger or only 45 minutes using a DC Combo recharging point.
The entry into production and arrival to the Mercedes-Benz eSprinter dealers is scheduled for next year. For the time being it is unknown the exact date of its landing in the market and the starting price that will have.
