SYBILLA CONCEPT CELEBRATES THE 80 YEARS OF GIUGIARO

Presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2018, the Sybilla Concept is the last work signed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and his son Fabrizio Giugiaro. This sporty 4-seat electric sedan was shown again to the public at the Villa d'Este 2018 Concorso d'Eleganza, which is celebrated every year on the edge of Lake Como in Italy. His presence in Italy is due to the celebrated designer's 80th birthday, father of some of the most iconic models of all time, such as the Volkswagen Golf MKI and Lotus Esprit. His company, Italdesign, is now part of the VAG Group, however, he and his son Fabrizio remain in the only business they have ever known to design cars.

The new Sybilla Concept was developed in collaboration with the Chinese company Envision, and has an electrical scheme that does not know many details, but what really is important in this concept is its daring aesthetic proposal, which goes completely out of the ordinary. Its body of 5 meters in length counts on very fluid and sober lines, without loaded traits nor dramatic breaks, which is still a sign of identity of the Italian designer. Its most striking feature is the fully glazed, one-piece cockpit-like roof. This element moves to be able to access the interior, and certainly not very practical on rainy days.

The rear of the passenger compartment has two seats and two doors, although these are very hidden, and the windows open vertically, like seagulls. The interior has a lot of leather covering, an attractive red color that contrasts with the sober exterior, as well as numerous multimedia screens.Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro attended this weekend together with the Sybilla Concept in Villa d'Este, so that all the visitors of the event could appreciate the concept and count on the presence of the designers.
