LAVIDA PLUS PRESENTED IN CHINA

Volkswagen has very ambitious plans for the Chinese market for the coming years. In addition to increasing its SUV line with the introduction of up to 12 new models, the German manufacturer plans to strengthen the rest of its lineup with other more traditional style vehicles. One is the new Volkswagen Lavida Plus. The new generation of the Volkswagen Lavida is already a reality and comes loaded with important news.The second generation of Lavida reached the Chinese market in 2012 and has since suffered only a slight update. A deeper renovation was highly anticipated by Chinese customers who are still betting on traditional sedans. In principle, one of the catchy details is that the name incorporates the 'Plus', but the changes are much more relevant than at first sight.In relation to the current Lavida, the new model changes platform, being that instead of PQ34 it starts to use the MQB, used by Volkswagen in much of its line. Due to the change of platform, the measurements also vary. The new Volkswagen Lavida Plus measures 4.670 mm long, 1,806 mm wide and 1,474 mm high. Its wheelbase is 2,688 mm.

Aesthetically the new Volkswagen Lavida Plus takes as its influence the latest sedans introduced by the German manufacturer, especially the Volkswagen Arteon and the Volkswagen Jetta. Some of its most striking features are LED technology headlamps connected directly with the new grille and shape that adopt the antinebline headlights as well as the air intakes. The taillights, also of LED technology, help to enhance the stylized image of the new Chinese sedan.If we take a look at the images of the interior, an atmosphere that conveys a feeling of greater quality. The adjustments seem to be better finished. Some elements resemble the new generation of the Volkswagen Polo. The 8.0-inch touchscreen to use the infotainment system, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, will be the central axis.





As for the mechanical part, the offer will consist of a 1.5-liter EA211 engine with 115 hp, as well as a 1.4-liter TSI Turbo 150 hp engine. All engines feature Start & Stop technology and offer the option of attaching to a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. The most powerful option of the Lavida Plus will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.3 seconds.
The official presentation of the new Volkswagen Lavida Plus will take place in a few more days during the Beijing Salon 2018. Its commercialization will begin in China a few months later. For the time being its starting price is unknown, but for all the advances and improvements suffered, it is clear that it will be much more expensive than the current Volkswagen Lavida.
