THE NEW VERSION OF THE TOYOTA LAND CRUISER
The British division of Toyota revealed this week a new commercial version of the Toyota Land Cruiser all-terrain. Like other vehicles of this type, it has a passenger compartment emptied at the rear, which is reserved for cargo. This is not the first time Toyota has prepared a commercial version of the Land Cruiser, but it is the first one to be marketed in the UK. In some markets, such as Australia, a pick-up version of the Land Cruiser is available. This special version gets the name Toyota Land Cruiser LCV and is available only for the British market, so in principle we should not see it in other markets. Despite its nature, a vehicle dedicated to professionals and the delivery of goods, the Land Cruiser maintains almost unchanged its aesthetics, in fact it does not have panels in the bodywork, as you would expect, but it continues to rely on its rear windows. At the exterior level, the only traits that betray him are the total absence of chrome, the steel wheels that are only found in the most basic versions of the model, the black plastic carcasses of the rearview mirrors and the interior separation grid.
The new Land Cruiser LCV is available in both body versions, short chassis and two side doors or long chassis and 4 side doors, like the rest of the Land Cruiser regular line versions. Depending on the body chosen, it offers a load volume of 1,574 or 2,216 liters, with a load capacity of 593 or 756 kilos, respectively.
Behind the huge rear cover, which opens to the side like the rest of the versions, hides a large space that has flat ground, which facilitates the loading task, and is separated from the front seats by a metal grille. The only engine available for this version is the 2.8-liter D-4D turbodiesel that delivers 177 hp and announces an average consumption of 13.5 km / l. The transmission is the six-speed manual and maintains the total drive system of the rest of the Land Cruiser versions.
