BRAND REVEALS TWO NEW MODELS

SF Motors is a young company founded in early 2016 and headquartered in China's Chongqing Sokon Industry. This is a new player who wants to get on the scene to rise in the wave generated around sustainable mobility and the heyday that the electric car is having in many markets. Although these days all the attention was placed in the Salon of New York 2018, the company chose to organize an own event to show the public and the press the two projects in which it is working.At an event organized in California (USA), SF Motors staff unveiled the new SF5 and SF7. As the images below show, these are not vehicles in the production format, since they present features of any concept car. But they stand as the antechamber of a line of electric cars to the battery that will soon reach the market.The new SF5 is a compact SUV that features sleek shapes, flowing lines and a sleek, modern design. The luminous signature that draws the LED lights is one of the most striking features of this model. For its part, the SF7 is positioned as a more sporty alternative, since its body reveals a proper form of a Coupe SUV. Both its front bumper and the air intakes denote superior performance.

The production versions of SF5 and SF7 will be available with different mechanical configurations, all of them will be fully electric. SF Motors opens the door to possible versions equipped with one, two, three or four engines. This will be possible thanks to the platform on which the two vehicles are mounted. The power ranges of each engine will range from 100 kW (136 hp) to 400 kW (544 hp). The company ensures that there will also be versions that will overcome the 1,000 hp (745 kW) barrier.

In terms of autonomy, a key factor when talking about any electric car, the brand has indicated that it will homologate around 500 kilometers in the cycle NEDC. For customers who need higher autonomy, extended range versions will be available.On the other hand, the company commented that its new models will be equipped with semi-autonomous driving technology that will use a LiDAR sensor so that the vehicle can perform different actions without the driver interfering with it. The vehicles will be equipped with all the necessary hardware for this, although the software is not ready to go live until the year 2020.
The first model to go into production will be the SF5. The first units will begin to leave the assembly line later this year. Its production will take place in a factory located in Chongqing (China). SF Motors will begin receiving orders before the end of this year 2018.
