NEW TUCSON 2019: more efficient and technologically advanced
The new Hyundai Tucson was unveiled to the public at the New York Motor Show. The South Korean manufacturer submitted the small SUV to a facelift in an attempt to consolidate sales by the end of the current generation cycle. The renovated Tucson presents an urban and sporting image, complemented by state-of-the-art technology and new engines.
Exterior and interior
The front is characterized by a cascade grille, high bumper and Full LED headlights. The sides are marked by the new design of the rims, while the rear section is distinguished by the new headlights and redesigned bumpers.The interior of the new Tucson has been renovated to include state-of-the-art technology. The new infotainment system that integrates a 7-inch screen and is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is the core element of the interior. It is also worth mentioning the optional premium sound system signed by Krell and the possibility of charging mobile phones by induction.However, the main highlight is the addition of the various driving assistance systems that the brand already offers in other models, such as: automatic emergency braking, track wizard, driver alert display, cruise control adaptive, speed limit warning and cameras that give a 360 degree view.
Motor
The powertrain line includes two diesel engines and two gasoline engines, all of which are improved in terms of efficiency. The diesel offering is made up of a 1.6 liter engine with two power levels (115 and 133 hp) and a 2.0 liter engine with 186 hp. The 115 hp version is associated with a 6-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive, the 133-hp can optionally be combined with a 7-speed automatic gearbox and full-wheel drive, while the more powerful 186-hp version, is only available with all-wheel drive and can be attached to the manual or automatic transmission.
The petrol supply is composed of two 1.6-liter engines, one with 132 hp and the other with 177 hp. The entry version is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive, while the top-of-the-range version allows the option to opt for a 7-speed automatic and four-wheel drive.
