SsangYong will not be out of electric mobility. The Korean manufacturer is aware that the future of any automaker is to partially or fully electrify its line of vehicles. At the Geneva Motor Show 2018 the brand revealed an interesting concept car with which it advances its vision of the future in this matter. This is the new SsangYong e-SIV Concept.Anticipated recently with a series of sketches, this new concept and electric SUV was introduced to the public at the Swiss event. In addition to positioning itself as an advance to the expected successor to the currently being developed SsangYong Korando, it also stands as the antechamber of SsangYong's first electric car battery.Positioned midway between today's Tivoli and Rexton, the SsangYong e-SIV Concept showcases the new design philosophy the brand will apply to its future releases. Its front features an imposing print where the LED technology headlights and tapered design add a touch of elegance. The blue details reflect the type of vehicle being displayed.

However, the essence and fundamental values ​​of SsangYong are not hidden, since the e-SIV Concept has all the characteristics of an SUV. A vehicle that invites us to leave the asphalt of the great city to enter the mountain paths. All this in the silence offered by a 100% electric mechanic. If we take a look at its interior, we notice a futuristic atmosphere where the instrument panel and the center console are perfectly integrated to offer a multimedia and connected environment. There are only physical controls.

The SsangYong e-SIV Concept also offers a high level of connectivity and features the most innovative technologies developed by SsangYong. Voice recognition, internet connection and cloud services, as well as driver safety systems and the possibility of performing a car diagnosis. In addition, it has an autonomous Level 2 driving technology. The Korean brand ensures that with the addition of an extra sensor it can be increased to level 3.
Speaking of the mechanical part of the SsangYong e-SIV Concept, one of the most relevant points, underneath its body hides a 190 hp (140 kW) electric motor powered by a 61.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which allows it announce an autonomy of 450 kilometers on a single charge. The maximum speed is limited to 150 km / h for reasons of autonomy.
The launch of the production electric car advanced by the SsangYong e-SIV Concept is planned for the beginning of the next decade. It is foreseeable that at some point in the year 2020 it will be introduced on the market. It will land after the new Korando generation is launched.
