It was first revealed at the beginning of last month as one of the main innovations of the manufacturer for the Geneva Motor Show 2018, and provided a vision of what will be the first B-SUV of the Czech brand. Now the Skoda Vision X Concept has finally been revealed and we can know all the details of this prototype which is driven by a hybrid system that makes it the first Skoda to offer this configuration. As part of Skoda's 'Strategy 2025', the Vision X Concept is a "compact proportion" study and shows a "crystalline exterior" design, the brand said in a statement. It will occupy the position of access to the brand, immediately below the Skoda Kodiaq and Skoda Karoq, with a very familiar design that "provides a concrete view of the third member of the successful SUV family," according to Bernhard Maier, CEO of the brand.

It is undeniable that the concept car that precedes the definitive version of production, which is expected to arrive in about a year, has many stylistic details typical of the SUV line of the Czech company. Whether in the form of the grille, the tapered LED daytime running lights with the separate optical group below, the shape of the hood with the central slit, the shape of the side windows and a tailgate with a separate trunk lid in two sections, as well as from the taillights. Besides that, it does not have door knobs and the mirrors have a very sharp design, signals that distinguish a prototype.

The interior, however, clearly denotes that it is a design study. It features many flamboyant details in green fluorine, inserts in different shades, floating style display, an all-digital instrument cluster, two-spoke steering wheel and a central console where there is no switch except for two components at the bottom for control the air conditioner.
On the other hand, in the mechanical part, the Skoda Vision X Concept presents an important innovation for both the industry and the brand itself. Firstly, it is a hybrid vehicle, a novelty within Skoda, and secondly, it offers a hybridization concept combining a traditional petrol engine with an electric motor, as well as the particularity that the engine also can run on compressed natural gas (CNG).
Described as "the first hybrid vehicle in Skoda's history to have a CNG and gasoline engine as well as an electric motor", the new Vision X Concept emits only 89 g / km of CO2. Equipped with the same TSI four-cylinder, 1.5-liter engine used by its cousins of the VW group, it is equipped with compressed natural gas and an electric thruster on the rear axle, which allows it to have a full traction system.
