VISION OF THE FUTURE OF BRAND MOBILITY

In recent years Icona has revealed a series of flashy concept cars with which it wanted to show its vision of the future for the automobile industry. The latest designs of this design studio have taken the cornerstone of autonomous driving technology, one of the most relevant points for the future of the automotive sector.Based on this premise designed the new Icona Nucleus Concept.This new concept car will debut to the public and the press at the Geneva Motor Show 2018. An event that is a world showcase and where Icona will show its new project that, although in principle does not seem, emanated directly from the Icono Neo Concept presented more than two years during the Shanghai Salon 2016. The new Nucleus is an evolution of that conceptual model.

Described as 'a definite stand-alone room on wheels', the Icona Nucleus Concept reveals an insight into the future of urban mobility. An era is coming when it will be possible to relax on board a vehicle while moving to the desired point without the need to drive. That is why the interiors of the cars will be redirected to habitations where the priority will be to relax, find out and take the route to solve work issues.Aesthetically the exterior of the Icona Nucleus Concept shows a futuristic image, although it retains some memory of the traditional minibuses. If we take a look at the images below, we notice that it has only one access door to the interior. Therefore it has large dimensions, which will facilitate the entry and exit of the passenger compartment.



It does not have glass windows and in its place semitransparent panels have been installed that will allow the entrance of light from the outside, but will avoid the indiscreet glances. The same happens with the ceiling, instead of a traditional panoramic, it was chosen to use the same material. The Nucleus Concept measures 5.25 meters in length, 2.12 meters in width and 1.75 meters in height.According to Icona, despite its large dimensions the Nucleus has an aerodynamic coefficient of only 0.25. The company ensures that it was possible to achieve this number thanks to the diffuser and the shape shown by the wheel arches. There are no details about the mechanical part, but it is very likely to follow the line of the latest design studio work and be a fully electric vehicle.
If we take a look at the image of the interior of the Iconus Nucleus Concept, there is a cabin where there are no traditional elements and objects, such as the steering wheel and the instrument panel. The vehicle is completely autonomous, so you can do without them. Nucleus can travel up to six passengers aboard.
