SEAT
THE FIRST SPORTS OF ELETRICATED COMPETITION
The world of motorsport evolves at a frantic pace and just a few years ago, in 2013, the SEAT León Cup Racer served as a starting point for the birth of the successful regulation of the TCR, and only four years later, history repeats itself shadow of the very path that the auto industry is taking. The debut of the new Cupra e-Racer, the first 100% electric tourism tour, has been launched parallel to the concept of the E TCR, a new championship promoted by WSC Ltd, which intends to accommodate this type of vehicles. All details of the Cupra e-Racer will be unveiled at the imminent Geneva Motor Show, but everything seems to indicate that this vehicle is built under the technical regulation of the E TCR. However, it is perceived that this 100% electric model is designed on the basis of the SEAT León TCR developed by SEAT Sport, which with the birth of Cupra, as a new sport brand of SEAT, was renamed Cupra TCR. Regarding the base model from which it departs, the weight of the Cupra e-Racer is 300 kilos superior, due to the electric propulsor system and the enormous batteries used.
In this regard, the Cupra e-Racer has two engines located in the rear, as well as the batteries. These propellers offer a joint power of 300 kW (402 hp), but have a superboost mode in which the power fires up to 500 kW (670 hp) for a limited time. All this power is channeled to the asphalt through the total traction system that combines with an energy recovery system. Cupra e-Racer is expected to be featured in Geneva as part of the promotional events that WSC Ltd will host to promote its new championship.
