HYUNDAI
OFF-ROAD FUN AND ZERO EMISSIONS
This is one of Hyundai's latest innovations at the Geneva Motor Show, a concept car designed by the Korean brand's European design center in collaboration with the IED - Istituto Europeo di Design based in Italy.Created by fifteen students of design, it is a concept that shows the possibilities for a purely off-road driving in the form of a fun buggy with two seats and very contained dimensions, with a length of 3,745 mm and a height of 1,455 mm, showing a racy design reminiscent of a jetski. With a reduced body, since it does not have doors, ceilings or windows, this model is the way of eliminating the barriers between the exterior and the interior to create a functional concept as if it floated on the water.
Its large wheels allow it to develop in any type of terrain, being specially designed for a complete diversion overcoming obstacles, muddy areas or dunes, with a great capacity and being able to circulate both by land and water thanks to its monocoque chassis. The interior has two 'buckets' provided by Sabelt with integrated seatbelts and a special 'U' panel design, but Hyundai staff point out that the vehicle can be easily reconfigured so that only the driver is the protagonist of experiences and sensations. In both configurations, the Hyundai Kite is equipped with four electric motors - one on each wheel - with no propeller and with a waterjet turbine to move on the water, and equipped with a man-machine interface to control the different functions on board, a sample of the capabilities of future designers who will find a place in the Korean brand, such as Marco Gianotti, former student of this prestigious design school and responsible for the sketches of Hyundai Passo Corto, the concept of a sports car compact car presented at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, which today works as an exterior designer at Hyundai's European Design Center.
