THE KOREAN BET TO BRIGATE WITH THE GERMAN

The New York 2018 Motor Show was chosen by the Hyundai Premium brand to introduce the new Genesis G70. This is the bet of the Korean brand to deal with proposals such as the BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4. With this difficult goal in mind, the Genesis G70 2019 will rank below the G80 and G90 in the line-up of branded products.To try to be an alternative to the German models, the Genesis G70 carried out an intense test program in the most challenging environments in the world, from the heat of Death Valley to the intense cold of northern Sweden, through the Nürburgring, where it was calibrated in infinity of curves and unevenness that make up the most famous circuit in the world.The US version, which was unveiled in New York, will be available with two different engines and five levels of equipment. The powertrain consists of a 2.0-liter turbocharged 2.0-liter 255 hp engine and the well-known 3.3-liter V6 twin-turbo T-GDi with 370 hp that also gives life to the Kia Stinger. In addition, all will channel power to the rear axle as standard, while the total drive will be an extra.

By connecting the engine and the wheels, there is an eight-speed automatic transmission that can be controlled by paddle shifts behind the steering wheel, while customers can opt for a six-speed manual transmission on the rear-propelled 2.0 model, but only the full-drive versions rely on the Launch Control system. Five driving modes are also available that adjust the engine response, steering, engine sound, suspension and torque distribution between all wheels.

On the other hand, the Dynamic Package includes a limited slip mechanical differential, while the 3.3-liter V6 T-GDi engine version also offers an electronically controlled suspension and Brembo brakes. In addition, the new Genesis G70 2019 will offer complete equipment in terms of safety technology and driving assistants, as well as a palette of up to eight exterior colors. It will hit US dealerships in June.
