Honda introduces new CR-VHonda will introduce the European production version of the new Honda CR-V at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The new generation of the world's best-selling SUV * raises the bar for quality interior and space details - including, for the first time, the seven-seat option. The chassis is also the most sophisticated ever created for the CR-V, ensuring that this model delivers an engaging driving experience with exceptional comfort as well as true off-road capability.
Evolution in exterior design and premium interior qualityThe new Honda CR-V has a refined and sophisticated design, with wider and more muscular wheel arches, more visible contours in the bonnet and rear, as well as the lights that have already become the new Honda family signature.Narrower A-pillars, sculpted front and rear bumpers and lower protections make the new CR-V one of the most effective aerodynamic cars in its segment. It also incorporates the new Honda grille, which improves fuel efficiency. The new interior design incorporates a horizontal philosophy of the panel in order to highlight the more spacious cabin, accentuating the sense of spaciousness and conveying a sense of robustness. The panel includes 2 7-inch screens and the layout of the controls has been streamlined with the creation of a very simple air conditioning management zone located below the center console.
Segment-leading functionality and 7-seat optionThe new Honda CR-V features wider exterior proportions than its predecessor, with greater wheelbase and a more robust posture, which provides excellent interior space. The leading occupancy in the segment is evidenced by a generous space for all occupants, as well as by the capacity of the luggage compartment, wider and deeper. The two-position floor provides a smooth surface for transporting wider objects, while the automatic opening of the rear door facilitates access to the luggage compartment.Intelligent technologies make the new Honda CR-V more practical for everyday use. For example, the opening height of the rear door can be programmed to avoid contact with lower ceilings and the flexibility of the passenger compartment is enhanced by the central console with three storage positions. At the same time, the 60:40 folding of the rear seats in a single movement makes for quicker and more practical use.For the first time, the Honda CR-V will be available with the option of seven seats. When chosen this option, the third row of seats offers excellent legroom and height and, with a vertical angle of 101 °, ensures the comfort of passengers over long distances. Also access to the third row of benches is benchmark in class, thanks to its wider and lower opening área.
New engines with exceptional efficiency and drivingFor the first time, Honda's hybrid technology will be available in an SUV in Europe. The new Honda CR-V will be available with Honda's hybrid Intelligent Multi Mode Drive (i-MMD) with a 2.0-liter i-VTEC petrol engine and two electric motors to provide real efficiency and driving relaxed The i-MMD system does not use a conventional transmission; alternatively, a more compact, fixed ratio unit provides a direct connection between the moving components and a smoother transfer of torque. Also available is the 1.5 VTEC Turbo petrol engine, which delivers better performance and class-leading fuel economy. Power is delivered by either a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional automatic gearbox (CVT), set to provide a more linear response.Hybrid and gasoline engines incorporate front-wheel drive as standard, but both can be made available with Honda's latest four-wheel drive technology - 'Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System' - which gives the Honda CR-V true capabilities of all-terrain. The ground clearance was increased by 38mm in all versions, up to a height of 208mm in the AWD petrol version. The first unit of the Honda CR-V equipped with VTEC Turbo petrol engine of 1.5 liters are expected for the autumn of 2018, following the hybrid versions, in the beginning of 2019.* JATO Dynamics data, cumulative sales for 2013-2016
