HUMMER H1 EQUIPPED WITH AN ELECTRIC PROPULSION SYSTEM
The Austrian company Kreisel returns to the scene again. After presenting a modified Mercedes-Benz G Class for an electric system and a spectacular replica of the classic Porsche 910, also with electric mechanics, they now present their first electric prototype of the huge Hummer H1, where the famous Hollywood actor returns to be the best man of the brand in its presentation.
Held last week in Austria, once again the special guest of the performance was Arnold Schwarzenegger himself, one of the greatest fans of the iconic off-roader and one of its great supporters in the early 1990s, and contributed significantly to become a civilian model. Until then the Hummer was a simple vehicle of military use.

Although the mark does not confirm in its presentation note, probably this copy really belongs to the actor, also Austrian, since there are many images available in the web of Schwarzenegger next to an identical copy. In addition, the brand quotes Arnold's words in the presentation, "Kreisel Electric electrified my G Class last winter. And now a Hummer ... ".This new Kreisel prototype for the moment has no name, but during its presentation were revealed its most important specifications, such as its weight and autonomy. Like its other conversions for electricity, it is expected that the Hummer H1 will soon be on sale. But probably the actor of Austrian origin will be one of the first customers.At first sight, or at least in the few images released by the company, the H1 does not receive changes in its external part. However, the mechanical level has nothing to do with the original model. The huge combustion engine (up to 6.6 liters) completely disappears along with the transmission and the total traction system in favor of two new electric motors that offer a power of 490 hp (360 kW).

Each of the engines is housed on one of the axles, so it is expected that the division of weights has been improved, but not the number of the total weight, since this prototype of the Hummer H1 now weighs no less than 3,300 kilos, slightly higher than weight of the latest commercially available versions of the 4-door Hummer H1. Although the electric motors certainly weigh much less than the eliminated V8, we must add the weight of the new batteries, which in this case are 100 kWh.

These batteries allow a range of around 300 kilometers, a number certainly penalized by the excessive weight and poor aerodynamics of this huge brick on wheels, which has a top speed of 120 km / h. Still, it is a huge improvement compared to the fuel version, which announced consumption of 4.2 km / l and CO2 emissions of 470 g / km.
