Opel Astra Start
"Start" is the name of the new trim level for the Opel Astra, serving as the entry-level option for the German compact car. Prices begin at 32,450 euros for the 5-door hatchback and 33,650 euros for the station wagon version. This makes the Astra Start the most affordable model in the lineup; while its standard equipment is more modest than that of its siblings, it does not require any significant compromises.
As for the standard features, the new Opel Astra Start comes equipped with 16-inch steel wheels, full LED lighting, six-way adjustable "Intelli-Seats," automatic climate control, a keyless start system, front and rear parking sensors, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and a central touchscreen display of the same size.
To further enhance the vehicle, customers can opt for the "Start Comfort Pack," which includes "Solar Protect" heat-insulating glass, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a central armrest, and—on the Sports Tourer—roof rails.
Rüsselsheim. ‘Feel the made in Germany’: This is what the latest Opel Astra has demonstrated since its market launch this spring. With its combination of emotional design, highest precision and uncompromising quality, it embodies the essence of modern German engineering. To mark the start of the new model year, Opel is stepping it up a notch: The German manufacturer is expanding the range of trim levels available for the Astra. The compact-class bestseller from Rüsselsheim, which is currently also on display at the Paris Motor Show, is now also available as the Opel Astra Start. The new entry-level variant is perfectly tailored to customers who appreciate exceptional value for money. From as little as €31,890 (all prices RRP including VAT in Germany), customers will soon be able to drive their own five-door Astra, and from €33,390 the Astra Sports Tourer – each €1,500 less than before. For the Astra Electric, the entry-level price has even fallen by €1,900 to €36,490.
“With the launch of the new Start trim, we are now offering Opel Astra customers an even more attractive deal. Depending on the powertrain variant, they can save up to €1,900 while owning a car ‘made in Germany’ that is already extensively equipped. In this way, we are making individual mobility even more accessible to everyone, regardless of their preferred powertrain – and at the same time significantly more affordable than many of our competitors do,” said Patrick Dinger, Head of Opel Germany.
"Experience 'Made in Germany' quality": this is precisely what the latest Opel Astra has demonstrated since its market launch this spring. With its combination of emotive design, superior precision, and uncompromising quality, it embodies the essence of modern German engineering. As the new model year begins, Opel is raising the bar: the German manufacturer is expanding its range of trim levels for the Astra. The compact-class bestseller from Rüsselsheim—currently on display at the Paris Motor Show—is now available in the "Opel Astra Start" version.
This new entry-level variant is perfectly tailored to customers who value an exceptional price-to-quality ratio. Starting at 31,890 euros (all prices are recommended retail prices including VAT in Germany), customers will soon be able to drive home a five-door Astra, while the Astra Sports Tourer model will be available starting at 33,390 euros—a reduction of 1,500 euros compared to before. For the Astra Electric, the starting price has been lowered by as much as 1,900 euros, bringing it to 36,490 euros. "With the introduction of the new 'Start' equipment package, we are now offering Opel Astra customers an even more attractive proposition. Depending on the powertrain, they can save up to 1,900 euros while owning a 'Made in Germany' vehicle that already comes with a generous level of equipment. In this way, we are making individual mobility even more accessible to everyone—regardless of the preferred powertrain—and, at the same time, significantly more affordable than what many of our competitors offer," stated Patrick Dinger, Head of Opel in Germany.
The new Opel Astra Start: An attractive entry-level version featuring the new "Denim Blue" exterior color... The introduction of the new "Start" equipment package also marks the debut of a new metallic exterior color for the Opel Astra. Astra customers will receive their vehicle in a subtle "Denim Blue" shade—a color that blends elegance with understated style. Furthermore, the Astra Start comes equipped with numerous practical and comfort-oriented features. The driver and front passenger can enjoy six-way adjustable "Intelli-Seats," which, thanks to a central recess, contribute to a more relaxed driving experience. Automatic climate control—also included as standard—ensures a pleasant cabin temperature at all times. Safety and visibility are enhanced not only by the mandatory driver-assistance systems but also by front and rear parking sensors. A wide range of vehicle information can be monitored on a 10-inch customizable driver display, as well as on a color touchscreen of the same size, which is part of the multimedia infotainment system. Starting the vehicle is simple, thanks to the "Keyless Start" system.

With an especially attractive starting price of 31,890 euros, customers can get behind the wheel of the Astra Hybrid—a model that is both efficient and powerful, boasting a system output of 107 kW (145 hp) and 230 Nm of torque. The Astra delivers its power through an electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Alternatively, the Astra is also available with a 96 kW (130 hp) diesel engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Those seeking a battery-electric option—which produces zero tailpipe emissions while driving—can opt for the Astra Electric, which offers 115 kW (156 hp), an instant 270 Nm of torque, and practical V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology.
Furthermore, the Astra can be enhanced with additional features, such as the optional "Start Comfort" package. This package includes, among other things, "Solar Protect" heat-insulating glass, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a center armrest, and—for the Sports Tourer version—roof rails. Following the Opel Frontera and Opel Combo models, the Rüsselsheim-based manufacturer is gradually introducing the new "Start" trim level across its model lineup, offering attractive entry-level versions with an exceptional price-to-value ratio. At the same time, higher trim levels are being further enhanced with specific features, making them even more clearly distinct from one another to perfectly cater to the diverse needs of customers.
