Suzuki XL7 2026
From 1998 to 2009, Suzuki produced the seven-seat Grand Vitara XL7 SUV, which was sold in Russia, among other countries. In 2019, the Indian Suzuki XL6 model received a similar name, though it shares nothing with the Grand Vitara XL6 other than a similar designation: the number six indicates the seating capacity. This same vehicle is also produced in Indonesia, but there it features a seven-seat interior—meaning its XL7 designation is identical to that of the old Vitara! The XL duo had already been updated four years ago and has now undergone a second refresh, with the Indonesian version of the Suzuki XL7 being the first to launch.
Suzuki has unveiled the facelifted XL7 model for sale in Southeast Asia in Indonesia.
The seven-seater gets a new front bumper, a black or chrome front grille, new fog lights, tinted taillights, redesigned 16-inch wheels, and a fin-shaped antenna has been added to the roof.
The interior features higher-quality materials, and the 8-inch multimedia tablet has been replaced with a 9-inch unit. There is also a rearview camera, a surround-view camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, and more.
In Indonesia, the base Suzuki XL7 Zeta is available with a 1.5-liter 105-horsepower gasoline engine, mated to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
The Suzuki XL7 Beta Hybrid is also available with a manual or automatic transmission, while the Suzuki XL7 Alpha Hybrid is only available with a four-speed automatic transmission. Drive is to the front wheels.
As previously mentioned, the XL6 and XL7 are unrelated to the Vitara; instead, they are based on the Suzuki Ertiga compact minivan, which was actively imported into Russia a few years ago. They differ from the original model by featuring a unique front end, a different rear bumper, and a crossover-style body kit made of black plastic. With the latest update, the Suzuki XL7 has undergone another facelift. It now sports a more prominent front bumper with a black crossbar, LED fog lights, and a radiator grille with larger sections—which may be chrome-finished on some versions. A new 16-inch wheel design has also been added.
The interior of the seven-seat crossover remains largely unchanged, featuring only new trim materials and decorative accents. However, the entry-level version now includes a nine-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, replacing the previous eight-inch display. The top-of-the-line version also includes a 360-degree camera system and a dashcam.
1.5L petrol engine...The 1.5-litre engine delivers high fuel efficiency, low emissions, strong output and a torquey performance.
The updated Suzuki XL7 retains its existing powertrain technology. The naturally aspirated 1.5-liter gasoline engine (K15B) produces 105 hp and is paired with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. It features front-wheel drive only. Higher-end versions are equipped with a mild-hybrid system.
The updated Suzuki XL7 crossover is already available in Indonesia, with prices ranging from 274.3 million to 329.7 million local rupiah (US$15,000 to US$18,000). Vehicles assembled in Indonesia will soon be exported to Southeast Asian countries. However, the Suzuki XL6—built to Indian market specifications—has not yet received its update, which will likely be based on the Indonesian version.
