BMW X1 2027

BMW continues to expand the Neue Klasse design identity to an increasing number of models, and the next one could be one of its most important SUVs.

The updated X1 has already been photographed several times during testing, and now new renders have appeared that reveal what it could look like after the redesign. The visuals are signed by digital designer Nikita Chuyko, who created the renders based on photos of camouflaged prototypes. His works regularly occupy a prominent place in the offer of Kolesa magazine and, importantly, have proven to be very reliable estimates.

Unlike some other BMW novelties, the X1 will not get a completely new generation. Instead, it is an extensive redesign of the current model that should take over the Neue Klasse look, but retain the existing technical basis.

The biggest changes are expected at the front of the vehicle. The new X1 should get more upright and narrow BMW "kidneys", modeled on the new iX3 and electric i3 models. The all-new LED lights will be visually connected to the radiator grille with black decorative elements.

The front bumper will also be redesigned with more pronounced air intakes for a more dynamic look.

The side silhouette will not change significantly. The shape of the doors, handles and basic proportions remain the same, which confirms that this is a facelift, not a completely new model. At the rear, new light graphics and a redesigned bumper with more contrasting details are expected.

Although it will be significantly closer in appearance to the Neue Klasse models, the new X1 will not switch to their platform. BMW will retain the existing FAAR architecture, which means that the familiar 1.5 and 2.0 liter gasoline and diesel engines will remain on offer, along with hybrid versions in certain markets.

With this model, BMW plans to combine a new design identity with proven technology. If the renderings of Kolesa magazine are close to reality, the X1 could look significantly more modern after the redesign, while retaining everything that made it one of BMW's best-selling SUV models.
