Audi RSQ8-S ABT Sportsline 2026: Audi's Lamborghini Urus

For a long time, the idea of an extremely fast SUV seemed almost contradictory. SUVs were tall, heavy, family-oriented, and made for comfort. But then came models like the Audi RS Q8, capable of completely altering that logic. And when ABT Sportsline gets its hands on one of these German giants, the result ceases to be just a sporty SUV and transforms into something very close to a luxury land missile.

The new 2026 Audi RSQ8-S by ABT Sportsline emerges precisely as another chapter in this German obsession with speed, extreme engineering, and intimidating presence. Developed on the already brutal platform of the original RS Q8, the model prepared by the traditional Kempten company elevates virtually every aspect of the SUV to a new level of visual aggressiveness, technical refinement, and performance. And it does so while maintaining that typically Audi duality: brutal when provoked, comfortable when necessary.

Visually, the RSQ8-S appears much lower, wider, and more muscular than the conventional model. The front end receives new aerodynamic components in carbon fiber, including a more pronounced splitter, redesigned air intakes, and details that reinforce the feeling of width. On the sides, the enormous 23-inch ABT wheels practically fill the entire fenders, while the side skirts and new aerodynamic elements help create an even more aggressive silhouette.

At the rear, the SUV gains perhaps its most striking signature: the enormous carbon diffuser combined with ABT's traditional four monumental exhaust outlets. The combination makes the RSQ8-S look less like a sports utility vehicle and more like a racing car adapted for German streets. There's a certain visual exaggeration there – but that exaggeration is absolutely intentional.

Under the hood is the heart that transformed the RS Q8 into a modern legend among high-performance SUVs: the already famous 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 from the Volkswagen Group. However, in ABT's hands, this engine completely abandons any trace of discretion.

The German tuner applied a deep electronic recalibration, accompanied by modifications to the intake, thermal management, and sports exhaust system. The result brings the power to around 800 hp, depending on the configuration chosen by the customer. Torque easily exceeds 1,000 Nm, figures that place the SUV in territory normally reserved for exotic hypercars.

And perhaps the most impressive thing is how all this power is delivered. Thanks to the sophisticated quattro all-wheel-drive system and the extremely fast 8-speed automatic transmission, the RSQ8-S manages to transform its colossal mass into violent and almost surreal accelerations for a vehicle of this size. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint happens in just over 3 seconds, while the top speed easily surpasses the 300 km/h mark when equipped with the correct packages.

The electronic ABT Level Control optimises the vehicle’s stance and driving dynamics. Combined with the weight-optimised 23-inch ABT HIGH PERFORMANCE IR23 wheels, manufactured using flowforming technology, and tyres in size 295/35 R23 with TPMS, the RSQ8-S offers precise and confident handling that transfers the added performance effectively to the road.

These are figures that, not long ago, belonged only to the universe of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and McLarens. Now, they appear in a five-seater SUV with a huge trunk and the ability to tackle a long trip in near-executive comfort.

But pure power was never enough for ABT. The dynamic work done on the RSQ8-S is perhaps even more impressive than the engine numbers themselves. The adaptive air suspension has been recalibrated, receiving new electronic parameters and specific adjustments to drastically reduce body roll. The result is handling that completely defies the laws of physics when considering the vehicle's size.

In fast corners, the SUV seems to hide its mass in an almost unbelievable way. The steering gains quicker responses, while the rear steering system helps make the handling more agile and precise. It is exactly this type of engineering that has transformed large German SUVs into the absolute dominators of the high-performance segment in recent years.

The interior follows the same philosophy of refined brutality. Leather, Alcantara, and carbon fiber appear throughout the cabin. The sports seats feature exclusive ABT stitching, while illuminated details, specific emblems, and personalized finishes help differentiate the model from conventional Audi versions. Despite the sporty atmosphere, the environment remains extremely luxurious and technological – something that has always been a hallmark of the German manufacturer's most sophisticated RS models.

There is also an almost symbolic aspect to the RSQ8-S. It perhaps represents the pinnacle of a generation of SUVs powered by enormous twin-turbo V8 engines at a time when electrification and downsizing are beginning to dominate the European market. Just as with the RS6-LE 800, the feeling is that ABT is creating true final tributes to the era of large German combustion engines.

And there's something profoundly fascinating about all of this. Because the RSQ8-S doesn't try to hide its excesses. On the contrary: it celebrates them. It celebrates the roar of the V8, the brutality of the acceleration, the visual imposing presence, and the almost absurd ability to unite luxury, technology, and mechanical violence in a single automobile.

Interestingly, although today ABT is known worldwide for creating some of the most extreme modifications for Audi models, it all began in 1896 as a simple family blacksmith shop in the German city of Kempten. More than a century later, the company continues to work with power and metal – only replacing real horsepower with horsepower capable of pushing a luxury SUV beyond 300 km/h.
