SUBARU

Subaru at the Tokyo auto salon
Featured prominently are two brilliant models, the WRX and the Levorg, boasting the lengthy name “STI Sport R-Black Limited II STI Performance edition.” These twins stand out with their vibrant “Sunrise Yellow” paint, reminiscent of a sunrise on a racetrack, accompanied by 18-inch black aluminum wheels and darkened details on the grille, mirrors, and roof antenna.
Inside, the pair are equipped with Recaro seats featuring perforated yellow upholstery, black stitching, and suede inserts around the dashboard. While Subaru hasn't confirmed any modifications to the power or suspension geometry, both models will come with a selection of genuine accessories and STI Performance parts. A bit like offering a tailored suit for an already well-equipped supercar.
To continue being a “Different” brand for our customers, Subaru is striving to further build on the foundation of “Enjoyment and Peace of Mind” to elevate two experiential worlds: the Performance Scene, which expresses the enjoyment of driving, and the Adventure Scene, which conveys the exhilaration of embarking on an adventure. Through these two worlds, we are aiming to deepen the bonds and emotional connection with our customers. The Subaru/STI booth at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 will feature models and motorsport vehicles which elevate Subaru’s Performance Scene. The exhibiting models are based on the Levorg, WRX S4 and Impreza (Japanese models). As for motorsport vehicles, the new race car for the Super Taikyu Series 2026 will be unveiled, while the race cars participating Super GT series and Japanese Rally Championship will also be showcased.
Subaru has announced a six-car lineup for the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, divided between three special edition production models and three motorsport models developed for racing and rally competitions.
Two bright yellow twins stand out, the WRX and Levorg, both with the addition of the “STI Sport R-Black Limited II STI Performance edition” in the name.
A prominent feature is the vibrant Sunrise Yellow paint, paired with matte black 18-inch aluminum wheels and black details such as the front grille, side mirrors and roof antenna.
Inside, the sports sedan and wagon are equipped with Recaro seats with yellow perforated upholstery and black stitching.
There are no confirmed changes to the power or suspension modifications, but Subaru notes that both cars will be equipped with a selection of genuine accessories and STI Performance parts.
Next up is the Impreza ST-H STI Performance Edition with the Plus Package. As the name suggests, it's based on the ST-H package, but has been enhanced with STI Performance parts to enhance handling precision and visual appeal.
Although official photos show the model in classic Subaru Blue, the version on display at the show will be painted black, accented with bright red interior details for added contrast.
Subaru is also planning to give away this Impreza as a prize to one visitor who completes a survey during the event.
The lineup will also include three vehicles designed specifically for racing and rallying. The most notable debut is a novelty planned for the Super Taikyu series in 2026. Subaru has not yet shared full specifications, but it has confirmed that the car will run on carbon-neutral fuel, provide high performance and serve as a testbed for next-generation technology.
