Test 2026 Nissan Armada Nismo
The 2026 Nissan Armada benefits from over 40 years of performance experience with the introduction of the model's first NISMO version. The Armada NISMO adds even more style and handling enhancements to Nissan's highly capable full-size SUV, providing an exciting everyday driving experience.
NISMO engineering updates enhance the Armada's performance with increased engine power, recalibrated steering, a sportier suspension tuning, and a more engaging exhaust note. A stunning new performance-inspired package features NISMO-designed body parts and interior trim, with the division's exclusive Stealth Gray two-tone paint.
The Armada NISMO's 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 direct-injection engine has been optimized by NISMO engineers to deliver an additional 35 horsepower compared to other Armada models, totaling 460 horsepower (using only premium fuel)¹. Engine reprogramming and fine-tuning of valve clearance enable this additional performance. The engine roars more intensely through a recalibrated exhaust system, while the Active Sound Enhancement system in the cabin amplifies the engine's roar to thrill all occupants.
The improvements under the hood are complemented by exclusive NISMO adjustments, with the electric power steering reworked for a sportier feel and the Adaptive Electronic Air Suspension 2 providing a more responsive driving experience. The exclusive 22-inch NISMO forged alloy wheels utilize high-performance all-season tires, optimizing handling, steering, braking, and acceleration.
Building on more than 40 years of NISMO performance expertise, the Armada NISMO excites driving enthusiasts with 460 horsepower — a 35-horsepower increase versus other versions (when using premium fuel only) — from its twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine1 and a louder, less restrictive exhaust. NISMO engineers also precisely retuned the electric power steering and Adaptive Electronic Air Suspension2 for more engaging and direct handling. Completing the dynamic upgrades, NISMO-specific forged wheels shod in NISMO-exclusive high-performance tires deliver greater traction and responsiveness.
“The new Armada NISMO brings a bold, sporty edge to the lineup, joining the tough PRO-4X and the upscale Platinum Reserve. It’s all about giving drivers more of what they’re looking for,” said Vinay Shahani, senior vice president of U.S. Marketing and Sales at Nissan. “No matter where you're headed—on the highway, off the beaten path, or way off the grid—there’s an Armada built for the journey.”
The new version features a distinctive NISMO design including a new front and rear fascia, grille, side steps and rear spoiler. Fender flares and red-painted brake calipers continue the exterior transformation. For the ultimate sporty appearance, Armada NISMO is offered in an exclusive Stealth Gray paint option. Within the cabin, NISMO touches include adjustable bolsters for the front seats, aluminum pedals and quilted leather-appointed seats with red accents.
The 2026 Nissan Armada NISMO has received a complete redesign that not only updates the vehicle with NISMO's iconic styling but also enhances its aerodynamic performance. The front and rear bumpers, grille, side steps, and rear spoiler were all designed by NISMO, giving the SUV a sportier look. Fender flares are standard, providing a wider and more imposing stance. The Armada NISMO also features LED front fog lights and red-painted brake calipers.
Inside, the exclusive NISMO quilted leather details are finished in a charcoal tone with red accents and stitching. Other additional items include adjustable side bolsters on the front seats, which help keep occupants firmly in place during sportier driving, as well as aluminum pedals and multi-color ambient lighting.
The Armada NISMO is available in several exclusive color options: NISMO Stealth Gray, NISMO Stealth Gray with Super Black roof, and Diamond Black Pearl. Everest Triple-Layer Pearl White and Everest Triple-Layer Pearl White with Super Black roof are also available.
Just one year after the launch of the current generation, the 2026 Nissan Armada continues to make its mark in the full-size SUV segment with supreme comfort, premium interior features, precise handling, effortless off-road capability, and cutting-edge technologies. Available in SV, SL, Platinum, PRO-4X, NISMO, and Platinum Reserve trims, there's an Armada for every adventure.
All Armada trims, except the NISMO, offer the reliable performance of a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with 425 horsepower and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque⁴, coupled to a 9-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. All trims have a standard towing capacity of up to 3,855 kg (8,500 lb)⁵. The available Adaptive Electronic Air Suspension⁶ allows the vehicle's height to be raised or lowered for easier entry, optimizing comfort and handling in different road conditions.
A range of useful technologies simplifies off-road driving, daily commuting, and highway driving. Available features such as Hood Invisible View, Wide Front View, and Intelligent 3D Around View Monitor® help drivers detect obstacles around the vehicle, while the also available ProPILOT Assist 2.1 enables autonomous highway driving for attentive drivers. The Armada also offers Nissan's first Klipsch® premium audio system, with 12 speakers to keep everyone on board entertained and immersed in rich, realistic music.
For those who enjoy off-road adventures, the Armada offers its first PRO-4X version, equipped with off-road tires, a specific off-road front bumper with an increased approach angle, underbody protection plates, an electronically locking differential, and adaptive electronic air suspension. It stands out from other SUVs on trails with its fender flares, painted 20-inch PRO-4X wheels, and various lava red accents.
New for the 2026 model year, the Armada PRO-4X version can be optionally equipped with individual seats in the second row, instead of a bench seat.
