New Toyota Hilux officially unveiled
The new model launches the iconic pickup truck into a new era of electrified powertrains, aligning with Toyota’s multi-path development philosophy, including the first battery electric model and a zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell electric version.
The multipath philosophy recognises that different customer requirements and local conditions cannot be met with a single solution, so the all-new Hilux offers customers a range of options to suit their needs and driving demands. With the 48V Hybrid model, and both diesel and petrol internal combustion engines joining the wider European range, the Hilux will have more powertrain options than any other Toyota model, broadening its market position while maintaining the quality, durability and reliability that have made it a favourite pick-up around the world.

The new exterior design of the Hilux has been developed with the idea of being “tough and agile”, to deliver a powerful front end, with new proportions that create a distinctly powerful stance. The front end features new, slim headlights connected by a central “bar” bearing the classic TOYOTA name. On the BEV model, aerodynamic changes include the removal of the traditional grille, and special alloy wheels have been installed. Improved solutions on all versions include a new step for easy access to the rear of the vehicle, as well as redesigned side steps.

With the introduction of the new generation, the Hilux switches to a unique Double Cab body style, which is in line with customer wishes. Influenced by the new Toyota Land Cruiser, the quality throughout the cabin has been significantly improved, providing enjoyment for all the senses. The center console has a new horizontal design, which includes a 12.3-inch, customizable instrument panel and a central multimedia touch screen (diagonals up to 12.3 inches).
The controls for all-wheel drive and off-road driving are centrally grouped for easier operation; the BEV model uses a simple electronic shift-by-wire selector. To ensure all the connectivity requirements are met, the Hilux is available with a wireless device charger and new USB ports in the rear of the cabin.

Owners of the new Hilux versions can use remote controls and connected services via the MyToyota app, which is convenient for both private and business/fleet users. Fleet managers can view data from up to 10 vehicles, including location, fuel level and EV charging status, as well as driving analytics such as journey history.
This is also the first Hilux to feature Electric Power Steering, which provides the benefits of more direct steering, easier manoeuvring and reduced risk of kickback when driving on rough terrain.

The capabilities of the Toyota T-Mate package fitted to the new Hilux have been significantly expanded, providing an advanced suite of safety and driving assistance. The new model will be available (depending on trim level and local market) with a host of new and upgraded features, including an extension of the Toyota Safety Sense system to include low-speed acceleration limiter, proactive driving assistance and emergency braking. New updates, downloaded online, will ensure seamless updates when they become available.
Other new features include a blind spot monitoring system, a safe exit assist system, and a driver monitoring camera, among others.
