SEMA 2025

Bulletproof Automotive Honda S2000
It's been over twenty-five years since the Honda S2000 was introduced, but somehow it's still the car that every enthusiast dreams of and secretly hopes to own one day. Few cars from that era still inspire so many tuning projects, and the latest in the series is the BP25 from Bulletproof Automotive.
According to Autonews, the BP25 is a blend of styling, chassis, and performance enhancements that transform the Japanese roadster into something much sharper. This project was conceived to combine the most respected Japanese tuning houses with the latest high-performance technology. The finished car takes center stage at the SEMA show, marking Bulletproof Automotive's 25th anniversary.
Starting with the exterior, the once open S2000 has been reborn as a coupe with a Spoon hardtop. What's even more eye-catching is the Varis Dark Panther aero body kit made of carbon fiber, which includes revised bumpers, wider fenders, new air intakes and intakes, and a huge rear wing.

One of the striking details is a set of 19-inch BP-RW Evolution forged wheels, which are shod with high-grip tires and hide Brembo Pista brakes.
The suspension setup has been completely reworked with a Top Secret coilover kit, supported by parts from J's Racing, Robertuta, Spoon, EVS, and Hardrace.
The body is painted in Lamborghini Balloon White with gold graphics and exposed carbon fiber components with red accents. The racing-style wing mirrors are made of carbon and magnesium, and the taillights have custom LED inserts.
A storied tuner of Japanese performance cars has revealed a tuned Japanese performance car for this year’s SEMA show. Welcome to Bulletproof Automotive’s ‘BP25’: a modded Honda S2000 with many horsepowers accessible at many revolutions.
Specifically, 580 horsepowers “at a heart thumping 9,300rpm”, according to its makers. Indeed, despite whacking a great blower onto that unbreakable 2.0-litre Honda four-pot, BA were adamant on keeping “the original characteristics of the S2000 driving experience”.

So, that means being able to absolutely thrash that engine to hell and back, repeatedly and reliably. BA – based in LA – has done much to the motor. There’s a new ECU, aforementioned supercharger, an intercooler, new injectors, lots of new pumps, and a titanium exhaust among other bits and bobs.
There’s a new flywheel, clutch and short shifter for the gearbox, beefier six pot/four pot brakes front and back, a coilover kit, new control arms and braces, and of course, lots of new body parts.
Like a widebody kit, a new carbon fibre bonnet, a lightweight boot, a hardtop roof, new front glass, new carbon mirrors, a carbon fibre wing, some red badges and a custom paintjob called ‘Lamborghini Baloon White’.
“The S2000 is timeless, and for our 25th anniversary, we had to go back to the source,” said BA founder Ben Schaffer. “We took that core high-revving, analogue purity and amplified it with 580 supercharged horsepower and the finest modern tech.”
Quite a story…filled with many horsepowers accessible at many revolutions.

580 Horsepower, 9,300 RPMs, and Pure Emotion...Under the hood is a significantly modified 2.0-liter engine paired with a Vortech supercharger. The result is an impressive 588 hp at 9,300 rpm, with a redline that extends to 10,000 rpm. Underneath the sculpted hood lies a 2.0-liter engine built for high-revving drama. With over 580 supercharged horsepower screaming to 9,300 RPM. It’s a visceral throwback to what performance used to feel like before driver aids and sound dampening took over. Every shift, every climb to redline, reconnects the driver to the mechanical heartbeat of the machine.
Modern AEM management and bulletproof internals make the power reliable, but it’s the delivery that captivates. This isn’t about brute strength; it’s about precision and rhythm — that signature VTEC surge, now amplified through cutting-edge tuning and decades of passion. Only the best for the Honda S2000, just how Honda would have built it.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via an upgraded six-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. A Vintage Amuse titanium exhaust manifold and a 70 mm Euro Dual exhaust system made from the same material are also fitted to this project.
Ben Schaffer, founder of Bulletproof Automotive, described the BP25 as a tribute to the spirit that first defined the S2000.
