EICMA 2025

BMW F 450 GS 2026

The 2026 BMW F 450 GS has just been officially revealed by the German brand at EICMA 2025, which opens its doors to the press this Tuesday and Wednesday (November 4th and 5th), before officially debuting to the public on Thursday, November 6th. The event runs until next Sunday at the Rho Fiera pavilion in Milan, and will be the stage for the main novelties in the world of motorcycling, among them the long-awaited BMW trail bike.

The model emerged at EICMA 2024 as a concept, but very close to its production version, according to BMW. Now, the F 450 GS arrives with the premise of combining lightness, versatility and the genuine spirit that characterizes the Bavarian manufacturer's adventure line.

This agile adventure-ready bike features a new 420cc twin-cylinder engine that delivers 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque. Comfort and connectivity are the focus with modern technology including a 6.5-inch TFT colour display, USB-C charging port, heated grips and full LED lighting. The new Easy Ride Clutch and optional Gear Shift Assist Pro enhance everyday usability. Rider assistance systems such as ABS Pro and Dynamic Brake Control ensure top-notch safety and stability.

Visually, the F 450 GS embodies the iconic GS DNA with its distinctive beak, dynamic line and sharp LED light signature.

The model also comes with a range of customisation options, including a dedicated GS Trophy variant with enhanced off-road equipment for those who push the boundaries beyond the asphalt.

The BMW F 450 GS debuts a brand-new 420 cc twin-cylinder engine produced with high-tech materials and low friction resistance, as well as a crankshaft inclined at 135 degrees. It delivers 48 hp of power at 8,750 rpm, while the torque is 4.3 kgf.m at 6,750 rpm.

As a novelty, the German adventure bike features the unprecedented Easy Ride Control (ERC) automated clutch system in the top-of-the-line version. The feature eliminates the manual use of the lever in various situations, making riding easier both in the city and off-road. In addition, the six-speed gearbox and the possible use of the "Shift Assistant Pro" quick-shift assistant reinforce the technological vocation of the new GS, says BMW Motorrad.

Lightweight chassis and balanced handling...Built on a tubular steel frame with the engine acting as a structural element, the F 450 GS prioritizes rigidity and low weight, around 180 kg in running order. The fuel tank holds 14 liters. The front suspension uses a 43 mm KYB inverted fork, while the hollow cast aluminum rear swingarm ensures strength and lightness.

Depending on the version, there are different suspension configurations and adjustments more geared towards sporty or adventurous riding.

The F 450 GS comes with a complete electronic package. Standard features include ABS Pro (also active in curves), DTC traction control, dynamic brake control (DBC), engine drag control (MSR), and three riding modes: Rain, Road, and Enduro. The Exclusive version adds the Enduro Pro mode, which allows for finer adjustments for off-road use. The F 450 GS instrument panel is a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity. The motorcycle also features full LED lighting and a headlight with an "X"-shaped optical signature, following the style of the R 1300 GS and GSA.

All variants of the new F 450 GS come with 19-inch alloy wheels at the front and 17-inch at the rear. However, buyers can opt for spoked wheels of the same dimensions, available as an optional item.

The standard seat height is 845 mm, but there will be lower and higher options to suit different heights. Finally, there are other accessories available, such as an Akrapovic exhaust.
