Czech company celebrates 130 years of consolidating its position as a European leader in electromobility with the success of the Elroq
With 130 years of tradition, Skoda is more vibrant than ever, combining a unique historical legacy with a firm commitment to electric mobility. From its beginnings as a small bicycle workshop to becoming one of the leading sellers of electric cars in Europe, the Czech brand has demonstrated its ability to adapt to the times without losing its practical and accessible essence.
Skoda's more than century-long history is rooted in its ethos of offering practical, affordable, and reliable vehicles adapted to the daily lives of its drivers. This DNA lives on in each of its current electric and plug-in models, from the Superb iV and Kodiaq iV hybrids to the sporty Enyaq RS and Elroq RS. With the Elroq leading electric vehicle sales in Europe, the Epiq joining local production in Spain, and the Vision 0 as the next technological leap, Skoda is solidifying its position as a leader in electrification in the European market.
Skoda has launched an ambitious strategy to ensure that 50% to 70% of its European sales will be electric vehicles by 2030. To achieve this, it is developing a wide range of plug-in and electric models, with a strong commitment to local production and technological efficiency.
Of all these, the Elroq has emerged strongly in the European electric market. This compact electric SUV, available in different versions with battery capacities ranging from 55 to 82 kWh, achieving a range of up to 550 kilometers and with power up to 340 hp in its RS version, has led the way in sales in several European markets throughout 2025 and even became the most sought-after car in Europe during the months of April and July.
Its success lies in combining advanced features, such as fast-charging systems up to 185 kW and all-wheel drive on the most powerful versions, with a modern and functional design. The Elroq RS, the much-talked-about sports version, maintains the racing DNA that has always characterized the brand and which also debuted on the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé.

Next steps: Epiq and Vision 0...In short, Skoda will continue its growth with the launch of the Epiq, an electric urban SUV that will be produced at the Volkswagen plant in Navarra. At 4.1 meters long and with a range of up to 425 kilometers, the Epiq aims to be the affordable and practical option for customers seeking zero-emission mobility without sacrificing comfort or usable space, all for a price tag of around €25,000.
Looking ahead to 2027, Skoda foresees a paradigm shift with the Vision 0, a prototype that previews the future of its electric family vehicles. This model, featuring the new Modern Solid design language, combines sustainable materials with advanced technology: a panoramic Horizon display, intelligent AI-based assistants, and optimized aerodynamics for greater efficiency. The Vision 0 is Skoda's vision—pardon the redundancy—of a connected, efficient, and comfortable electric family vehicle, renewing its commitment to innovation and sustainable mobility.
The ultimate tribute...In line with the celebration of its 130 years of history, Skoda has launched a very special limited edition based on the successful Fabia Monte Carlo: the Skoda Fabia 130. This model not only pays homage to the brand's heritage but also becomes the fastest production Fabia ever produced, reaching a top speed of 228 km/h.

It is equipped with a 1.5 TSI EVO2 engine that delivers 177 hp and maximum torque of 250 Nm. This is the result of carefully updated components, such as the intake plenum and vibration damper, designed to improve response and provide a more consistent torque curve. Modifications to the seven-speed DSG gearbox allow for faster acceleration and smoother gear changes, with Normal and Sport driving modes that adapt the vehicle's response to different driving styles.
In terms of aesthetics and dynamics, the Fabia 130 features a sports suspension lowered by 15 mm and recalibrated steering for greater precision and agility. Its exterior design combines gloss black details (roof, pillars, spoilers, and diffusers) with exclusive emblems celebrating the anniversary, Bi-LED headlights with darkened housings, and 18-inch Libra wheels with a smoked finish. Inside, it features power sports seats, stainless steel pedals, and a three-spoke steering wheel, complemented by a 10-inch Virtual Cockpit and a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with menus designed to highlight its sporty character.

This limited edition is now available to order in Europe with a starting price of approximately €33,350, and deliveries will begin in December 2025.
