Hyundai Concept THREE at IAA Mobility 2025
Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the Concept THREE, its first compact electric vehicle (EV) concept under the IONIQ sub-brand, at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich.
The premiere represents Hyundai Motor’s commitment to delivering exceptional electric vehicles in a rapidly evolving global market, where the focus is shifting from technological advancements to emotionally fulfilling experiences.
At IAA Mobility 2025, Hyundai Motor will also showcase its full electric vehicle lineup and showcase its electrification strategy in Europe, reaffirming its leadership role in Europe’s transition to clean energy.

At the heart of Hyundai Motor’s participation at IAA Mobility 2025 is the global premiere of the Concept THREE, an innovative compact EV concept that represents the next step in the company’s journey towards electrification.
As the first compact EV concept under the IONIQ sub-brand, the Concept THREE heralds Hyundai Motor’s future expansion into a new vehicle category, complementing its existing mid- and large-sized models.
Europe is seeing a growing demand for compact electric vehicles — driven by urbanization, sustainability regulations and the growing need for space-efficient solutions — and the Concept THREE showcases Hyundai Motor’s vision for meeting this demand using advanced electrification technologies.

In addition to its strategic positioning, the innovative design of the Concept THREE also underscores the brand’s commitment to delivering a meaningful, emotionally powerful experience in an accessible and practical package.
Hyundai Motor expects the introduction of the Concept THREE to set the tone for the next chapter of design innovation and strengthen its competitive position in the electrification process.
“Returning to IAA Mobility after four years is a real anniversary, and such an occasion deserves an anniversary car,” said Xavier Martinet, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Europe. “The Concept THREE represents the next step in Hyundai Motor’s electrification journey. With its compact dimensions and Art of Steel design language, it represents our vision of mobility that is practical, accessible and emotionally powerful.”

Hyundai Motor sees Europe as the innovation hub for the electric vehicle era, driven by diverse cultures, progressive environmental policies and urban-focused mobility needs. The region’s demand for compact, sustainable vehicles places Europe at the heart of the company’s global electrification goals.
Nearly 80 percent of Hyundai Motor’s vehicles sold in Europe are manufactured locally, reflecting the brand’s deep integration and ability to tailor solutions to the unique mobility needs of both urban and rural communities.
Hyundai Motor’s participation in IAA Mobility 2025 marks a significant milestone as the company returns to Europe’s largest mobility event for the first time in four years. With 750 exhibitors and an expected 500,000 visitors from 110 countries, IAA Mobility is not only a showcase for mobility innovations, but also a key platform for engagement in Europe’s largest electric vehicle market.

IAA Mobility has evolved significantly since 2021, transforming itself from a traditional motor show into a city-wide event — from the exhibition halls of the Munich Messe to open spaces in the city center. This format allows brands to directly interact with consumers in an immersive and interactive way, making it the perfect stage for Hyundai Motor’s ambition to lead the European electrification movement.
Hyundai Motor will be drawing attention to the IAA Open Space with a 58-meter-wide and 7-meter-high stand located in the bustling center of Munich on Ludwigstraße. Inspired by the Parametric Pixel design, a key element of Hyundai vehicles, the stand features six enlarged glass pixels that radiate an imposing presence. This design confirms Hyundai Motor’s commitment to innovation and leadership in emotional design, creating a striking visual identity that stands out from the competition.

IAA Mobility is not just an exhibition; it is a global stage for the future of mobility. Hyundai Motor's return to the event in 2025 confirms its ambition to lead the European electric vehicle market, using IAA Mobility as a platform to redefine urban mobility and present the next chapter of its electrification journey.
